February, 2017

February is Black History Month

If you're looking for great reads for young people for Black History Month, we recommend these books. All were recently honored by the American Library Association (ALA) during the 2017 ALA Youth Media Awards.

Learn more about the Civil Rights Movement, Black Power Movement, Black Arts Movement, and Black Lives Matter by watching our video, African American Social Movements. We've also put together a list of suggested reading if you'd like to dig deeper into these topics.
