I'm a a senior baseball writer for ESPN Insider and an analyst for ESPN's Baseball Tonight, focusing on all types of baseball analysis. Prior to joining ESPN, I worked in the front office for the Toronto Blue Jays, and was a writer for Baseball Prospectus in the late 1990s. I also write about boardgames, books, food, music, movies, and occasionally other topics. I'm also an obsessive maker of lists and rankings.

I'm a native New Yorker, but have lived all over the country and currently live in northern Delaware with my wife, daughter, and two more animals than I actually planned to have....

Paul Dickson is the author of more than 45 nonfiction books and hundreds of magazine articles. Although he has written on a variety of subjects from ice cream to kite flying to electronic warfare, he now concentrates on writing about the American language, baseball and 20th century history. Dickson, born in Yonkers, NY, graduated from Wesleyan University in 1961 and was honored as a Distinguished Alumnae of that institution in 2001.
