I suppose I have always been enamored with story and character. My mother tells me I could be the most annoying little kid, waking up each day as a new character. Every morning she would have to ask me "who" I was for that day, because unless properly addressed I refused to answer anyone. NGHI VO writes speculative fiction of all kinds. Her short stories have appeared in Strange Horizons, Uncanny Magazine, PodCastle, Lightspeed, and Fireside. Her short story, "Neither Witch nor Fairy" made the 2014 Otherwise Award Honor List. Nghi mostly writes about food, death, and family, but sometimes detours into blood, love, and rhetoric. She was born in central Illinois and retains a healthy respect for corn mazes, scarecrows, and fifty-year floods.
