Clinton the Musical
By O.c.r., Clinton The Musical /
Recorded on May 19, 2015, this cast album from the original off-Broadway production of the irreverent rock musical Clinton: The Musical is, much like that presidency, not for children. The farcical book, written by Paul and Michael Hodge, splits President Bill Clinton into two characters played by two different actors (Tom Galantich and Duke Lafoon) to represent his duplicity, and freely mocks the '90s -- dial-up Internet sound effects and all -- in addition to its lead characters (Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton played by Kerri Butler, and Monica Lewinsky played by Veronica J. Kuehn) . Newt Gingrich and Kenneth Starr are also portrayed in the show, with the former delivering the coarse, declamatory "Say Nay" (sung by John Treacy Egan) . Tunes like "Sexual Relations" and the crass "Monica's Song" also go a bit further than one might expect; depending on one's political stance and particular sense of humor, Paul Hodge is to blame or thank for the lyrics and music. In a year that also saw the hit Lin-Manuel Miranda Broadway show Hamilton: An American Musical, Clinton: The Musical does not compare favorably on any level, but for those who are neither devoted Clinton fans nor sensitive to lowbrow humor at the expense of public figures, it may just provide rare belly laughs. On a more unqualified note, comedian Judy Gold makes an appearance as a portrait of Eleanor Roosevelt.

The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden
By Jonasson, Jonas
As delightfully wry and witty as his bestselling debut, 'The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared', this is a tale of how one woman's attempt to change her future ended up changing everything. Nombeko Mayeki is on the run from the world's most ruthless secret service - with three Chinese sisters, twins who are officially one person and an elderly potato farmer. Oh, and the fate of the King of Sweden - and the world - rests on her shoulders. Born in a Soweto shack in 1961, Nombeko was destined for a short, hard life. When she was run over by a drunken engineer her luck changed. Alive, but blamed for the accident, she was made to work for the engineer - who happened to be in charge of a project vital to South Africa's security.

1917 - Music In Turbulent Times
By Artists, Various
1917 was a year of turbulence both artistically and politically. It was the penultimate year of World War One, the year of the Russian Revolution, and a year that saw artistic and cultural changes take place. This compilation explores the music inspired by the turbulent times at the beginning of the twentieth century. Each work tells part of the story of this pivotal year, for example:Respighi s Fountains of Rome was premiered in 1917 after Toscanini refused to conduct it the previous year after it had been programmed alongside music by Wagner. Ravel s Tombeau de Couperin was completed in 1917. Each movement is dedicated to a friend who had been killed in the war Satie s Parade was a true collaboration across creative worlds: sets and costumes by Pablo Picasso, scenario by Jean Cocteau, music by Erik Satie, and danced by the Ballets Russes in 1917Shostakovich s monumental Symphony no. 12 The Year 1917 was written in 1961 in the heart of communist Russia. It has been suggested that Shostakovich originally wrote a satire of Lenin but due to the potential danger had to recompose the piece at the last minute

PERCEPTION
By Nf,
NF is back with his third album in three years, Perception. Teaming up with several A-list songwriters and producers, NF has carefully crafted what is nothing short of a masterpiece. Delivering the same honest lyrical content and emotion that NF has become known for, Perception invites us further into the mind of an artist who is clearly just getting started. Featuring the tracks "One Hundred" (as heard on HBO's Ballers,) "Outro," "Green Lights," and the single "Let You Down."
