David Carr Glover was a prolific composer and arranger who was best known for pedagogical compositions for new students of piano. Born and raised in Portsmouth, Virginia, most of his teachers and role models were local. In the 1950's, he worked with Charles Hansen in New York. After returning to Virginia, in the 1960's he was the principal creator of the Tidewater Music Teachers Association and taught piano in his own Glover School of Music. He developed a piano "method book" that sold over a million copies worldwide. During his career he was active in the Music Teachers National Association and traveled widely, holding innumerable seminars and workshops about his publications. He was associated with Walt Disney for many years and arranged many Disney tunes for piano.
