Celestial Event of the Century
On Monday, August 21 a total eclipse of the sun will be visible in the continental United States. (No other country will get to see the total eclipse this time) New Jersey will only see a partial eclipse in which the Moon covers only a portion of the Sun.
Warren County will be celebrating this event with a series of programs leading up to a system wide party and eclipse viewing. As part of our celebration, the library will be distributing 4,000 pairs of free safe-viewing solar glasses. These glasses were made available to us through the Space Science Institute with funding from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, Google, National Science Foundation and NASA.
Contact your local branch to learn how you can get your free solar glasses. A limited number of glasses will also be distributed at the library’s booth at the Warren County Farmers Fair July 31-August 4.
