Tax Help has Arrived

April may seem a long way off, but tax preparation help is getting started this month. Students from UMD's Accounting department will be on hand to help with tax preparation for households with incomes under $54,000. First come, first served.

Academy Award Film Vegan Cookbook Club • Lotion Making

Our Academy Award Film series finale features Judy, which is nominated for two Oscars. Come early for movie trivia. • Vegan Cookbook Club now meets twice a month. Share recipes and meet friends at the Mount Royal Branch and at the Main Libraries. • Learn about emulsified lotion and how it's made. You may even win some artisan lotion to take home!

Marshmallow Madness • Write On! • Adulting 101

Ready to send marshmallows soaring through the air? Build a launching device and see how your creation holds up to the lighthearted competition. • Writers, whatever your genre, you can launch your next piece at the Write On! workshop. • Take control of your money with a crash course on finances; learn about account types, budgets, credit scores, and more.

Stay & Play • Read to a Dog • Gaming & Crafts for Kids

Only finding one mitten? No worries! Come to the great indoors for large motor and imaginative play after the weekly storytimes at the Main Library. • Practice your reading with a perfect listener at Read to Dog. • End the extra-long February with a winning combo of entertainment: video games and crafts!

It's Not too Late to Participate

The Winter Reading Program is happening now through February 29. That means you have the whole Leap-Year-extra-day-long month of February to log reading time, earn badges, and submit tickets towards prizes!

This program's prize drawings include chances to win gift cards to local bookstores, movie theaters, museums, and more. As always, there's a free book for kids after they complete ten hours of reading (hours of early literacy activities done together count for the little little ones).

Make it even easier on yourself by using the free Beanstack Tracker app. The app can be your book journal, wintry activity inspiration, and another way to connect with the Duluth Public Library.
