Cooking Demonstration: French-inspired Summer Salads

Easy French-inspired summer salads dressed in a classic homemade vinaigrette are simple to make and always a hit with guests or for quick summer meals. Various salad recipes will be demonstrated along with the simple secret of making an authentic French vinaigrette. Samples will be available to taste. Attendance is limited to 40 people. Free tickets available beginning July 5 at the front desk.

The Tom Cunningham Trio plays a mix of Americana music with bluegrass, western swing, country and folk influences. Fiddler, guitarist and mandolin player Tom Cunningham provides the lead vocals. He is joined by Steve Dame on banjo, and Alan DiCato on the string bass. Get ready to tap your foot!

Ted Chiang's first published story, " Tower of Babylon ," won the Nebula Award in 1990. Subsequent stories have won the Asimov's SF Magazine reader poll, a second Nebula Award, the Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award, and the Sidewise Award for alternate history. He won the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer in 1992. Story for story, he is the most honored young writer in modern SF.
Now, collected here for the first time are all seven of this extraordinary writer's stories so far-plus an eighth story written especially for this volume.
The Club will focus on Story of Your Life, the short story that was turned into the blockbuster Arrival.
