All-Ages Programs

Winter Reading Program 
Now-Feb. 28
Our winter reading programs for all ages are back! Sign up now, and track your reading through Feb. 28. Register at westallislibrary.beanstack.org or in person. In addition to the grand prizes, you could win prizes as you tally your books or minutes read. Babies to readers in grade 5: Every 10 books or 200 minutes read earns an entry into the prize drawing, up to 50 books or 1,000 minutes. Readers in grades 6-12: For every two books you read, you'll be entered to win a prize. At four and eight books read, stop in the library for a prize! Readers 18 and older: Read four books to earn an entry into the prize drawing. At eight books, get another entry. Prizes include books and deluxe book bundles for each age group. Happy reading!
A Night of Hygge II 
Jan. 18 at 6-8pm
A Night of Hygge is back! Mingle with friends and neighbors over hot cocoa and cookies. Join us for special storytimes and decorate cookies in a watercolor style. We'll have activities for all ages, so don't miss out. Plus, you can sign up for one of our Winter Reading programs for a chance to win prizes, including deluxe book boxes.

Friday Film Club
Jan. 7 at 2pm
Enjoy a film select Friday afternoons in the Constitution Room. Join us for a showing of No Time to Die, featuring Daniel Craig as James Bond. Doors will open 15 minutes before the show, and we'll have room for the first 25 people who walk in. Masks required. This movie is rated PG-13.

Please join us in the Constitution Room for a discussion of We Begin at the End by Chris Whitaker. This literary thriller follows a police chief and 13-year-old Duchess Day Radley, an aspiring outlaw and memorable character. You can pick up a copy at the checkout desk now. Plus, well have coffee! No registration required.

Join us in the Constitution Room for our Coloring Club program. We will provide the coloring pages and coloring utensils, and you can provide the coloring and creativity! Registration is not required; just stop on by.

Join us on for a watch party at the library! We’ll view anime favorites and discuss the manga you’re reading. Most episodes are for a suggested audience of ages 14+. Registration is not necessary.

Winter Teen Discord Writers Club
Jan. 4-Feb. 23
This January and February head to Discord for writing prompts. Each week, starting Jan. 4, we'll post a prompt or activity for you to work on. Share your work, read what others have written, or just get advice! We'll post new prompts on Tuesdays, and you'll be able to share your responses. Join the library's teens-only Discord before January.

Friday Fun

Friday Fun is our monthly, teens-only program, where you can hang out at the library. We put out games, including the Nintendo Switch, as well as snacks and coloring sheets. Drop in for some or all of the time.

Teen readers, this event is for you! Join us for an afternoon of book recommendations, hot cocoa and tea, and reading. At our first event, we'll take a little bit of time to decorate mugs to use at other meetings. Bring a book to read, or pick up one at the library before you come to the program.
