Hotspots

To better serve all of our patrons, we are making changes to our Mobile Hotspot Checkout Program. Our goal is to make mobile hotspots more readily available and to shorten wait times. Changes are as follows:

  • One 7-day checkout at a time
  • No renewals
  • One hold at a time
  • If a hold becomes available while a patron already has one checked out, that hold will be cancelled and given to the next patron. There is a chance that patrons may still receive the Hold Available notification, even though that hold has been cancelled. If you receive this notification while you currently have a mobile hotspot checked out, please disregard the notification.
  • Patrons will be responsible for keeping track of their own holds. Library staff will not be automatically re-adding patrons to the hold list.
  • Patrons will still be required to return devices on time or risk having their check out privileges suspended for all devices.

NOTES FROM THE ASOTIN COUNTY LIBRARY FOUNDATION

It's amazing us. Two hundred-nine children are signed up for the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Project and Clearwater Paper Corporation just gave us another $2000 to buy more books for the project. Families can stop by the library to get free books that they can keep for their home bookshelves. The project was initiated just 10 months ago!

Beachview Park StoryWalk Project: Here's the Scoop!
The StoryWalk is part of a project that the City of Clarkston is doing at Beachview Park. They are installing new bathrooms, upgrading security and creating the concrete pathway for the StoryWalk. The new bathrooms should be delivered about the last week in July and then other work around them will progress. We received funds from Washington State Humanities for the 20 stands and books for the StoryWalk. Stories will be displayed in the stands so that visitors can move along the path to read the entire book. What fun you say! AND it will be right next to the childrens' playgrounds.
