Good afternoon,

November will bring the first few holiday events at the library. Main Library's Holiday Open House will be the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Come see our decorations and make an ornament.

If you haven't had a chance to see them yet, Steven Riggs' paintings will be on display for the remainder of this month at Main Library, the Main Library Annex, and Northside Branch. Steven will also be joining us to teach a sketching class for adults this month.

Holiday Open House

Visit the library during Chillicothe's Downtown Open House:

Friday November 22, 5-8pm: Decorate a Cookie! Join us at Julie's Shop on Paint, 92 N. Paint St. to decorate a cookie with the library staff. Stop by while you're strolling around the Downtown Open House. Cookies and decor sponsored by Julie's.

Saturday November 23, 12-2pm: Main Library Holiday Open House. Visit the library during Chillicothe's Downtown Open House. Adults and kids can enjoy refreshments and make a craft. We'll also have a storytime at 1:00pm.

Knit and Crochet at Lunch: Friday November 8, 12-2pm (Reference Area)

Looking for something to do on your lunch break? Come knit or crochet with us. Feel free to bring whatever project you're working on! We'll have some yarn and patterns on hand in case you need inspiration. Beginners are welcome!

Resume Writing Workshop: Thursday November 14, 12-2pm (Reference Area)

Your resume says a lot about you, and a good one can help you to make a favorable first impression when you apply for a job. This workshop will guide you through the process of creating a resume, help you learn how to highlight and promote your unique skills, write cover letters, navigate online job applications, brush up on interview techniques, and more.

You may register ahead of time, though walk-ins are welcome. Presented with support from the Employment First Council of Ross County.

Sketching workshop with Steven Riggs: Wednesday November 13, 6:30-7:30pm (Myers Meeting Room)

Adults, learn the basics of sketching in this fun workshop with artist Steven Riggs. All materials will be supplied, but registration is required.

About Steven Riggs:

Steven Riggs is a professional Artist, Designer and Architectural Designer who resides in Columbus, Ohio. He is widely known for his striking work, high standards in artistic presentation and captivating portraits. His works are in private and corporate collections throughout the USA, Canada, Europe and China.

Novels at Night: Thursday November 14, 6:30-7:30pm (Conference Room)

Our evening book club meets the 2nd Thursday of every month! Copies of each month's book are available several weeks ahead of time at the Main Library and the Northside Branch. In November we'll discuss Lisa Ko's The Leavers .
