Poetry Reading and Open Mic: Wednesday April 3, 6pm (Main Library Annex)
Please join us for a poetry reading and open mic night. Three local poets, Kathleen Burgess, Rose M. Smith, and Steve Abbott will read selections of their work. After a brief intermission, we will invite members of the audience to share their poetry with us. Light refreshments will be provided.
Tai Chi: Tuesdays April 9 and 23, 5pm (Main Library Annex)
Come enjoy this gentle, standing form of exercise, which helps with balance and mobility! Please wear comfortable clothing. Our guest presenter is Pam Nichols, a certified Tai Chi instructor through the Tao Academy of Kansas City. We meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of April. Knit and Crochet at Lunch: Friday April 12, noon-2pm (Main Library 2nd floor)
Looking for something to do on your lunch break? Come knit or crochet with us. Feel free to bring whatever project your're working on! We'll have some yarn and patterns on hand in case you need inspiration. Beginners are welcome! Stop by for whatever amount of time you're available.

See the film that educators and youth have celebrated in film festivals and special screenings across America.
Author, filmmaker and youth activist e.E. Charlton-Trujillo gives up the comforts of home to travel America and conduct writing workshops with at-risk youth. In doing so, she and the young people discuss tough topics like bullying, class, orientation, gender identity, teen pregnancy, suicide, depression and juvenile incareration.
