Wow! There is so much happening at the library this winter. These are adult programs at Main, Northside, and one offsite at Paper City Coffee. Mark your calendars, and I hope to see you there!

One-Time programs in January and February:

Explore Zentangle January 18 at 5pm (Northside Branch) Certified Zentangle teacher Cris Letourneau describes Zentangle as "a relaxing and mindful experience that uses structured patterns that can be taught to anyone who can work a pen." All materials will be provided. Registration is required.

Big Read Author Visit January 24 at 6pm (Main Library Annex) The January 2018 Pike and Ross County Big Read will bring high school students and community members together as we read Ohio author Theresa Flores’ first-hand account of sex trafficking in America. Come meet the author at the January 24th event.

It’s Groundhog Day! February 2 from 10am-5pm (Northside Branch) Come watch Groundhog Day on Groundhog Day back to back to back. We’ll bring the popcorn!

Winter Paint Night February 8 at 6pm (Northside Branch) Brush away the winter blues with a fun evening of painting. Beginners welcome, and all materials provided. Registration is required.

Black History Program February 15 at 7pm (Main Library Annex) Annual Library Black History Program with keynote speaker and guests.

Blind Date With a Book February 22 at 6pm (Main Library Annex) Starting in early February, pick up a “blind date” book (you won’t be able to see the cover). Read it, then come to our "Blind Date With a Book" party, enjoy light refreshments and talk about your book with fellow bibliophiles.

 

Repeating programs:

Tai Chi January 9 & 23, February 6 & 20, March 6 & 20, April 10 & 24, and May 8 & 22 at 5pm (Main Library Annex) A fun and gentle form of exercise, led by certified instructor Pam Nichols

Warm up in Chilli January 12, February 9 and March 9 at 10am (Main Library) March 15 at 5 pm (Northside Branch) Come knit or crochet with us. We’ll have some patterns and yarn available, if you would like to work on something for the children’s clothing bank. Feel free to bring your own project, if you prefer. Beginners welcome.

Introduction to Computer Basics January 13 & 27, February 10 & 27, March 10 & 24, and April 7 at 2pm (Northside Branch) Learn the basics of using a computer in this course. Check out details for each class on our website, or at the library. Registration required.

Brown Bag Book Club January 17, February 21 and March 21 at noon (Paper City Coffee) Our Lunch-time Book Club is moving to Paper City Coffee! Join us for a casual chat the 3rd Wednesday of each month. In January, we’re reading Huntley Fitzpatrick's My Life Next Door. Check out our website for books we’ll be reading in future months.

Calling all Board Gamers January 22, February 26 and March 19 at 7pm (Main Library) In January we will feature "King of Tokyo", and in February we will feature "Lanterns." Come try them out!

Tips for Effective Gardening February 5 and April 2 at 6pm (Northside Branch) and March 5 and May 7 at 6pm (Main Library Annex) Get ready for a great growing season with the 2018 Ross County Backyard Farm & Garden Series, presented by the Ross County OSU Extension and Master Gardener Volunteers.
