Good afternoon,

You may have noticed that this month's newsletter is a little late, but I wanted it to come out after Bookworm started! If you haven't registered yet, you can do that here! Bookworm runs from June 7 - July 28 this year. Adults can participate in the Reading Challenge (16 hour reading goal) and the Healthy Living Challenge, sponsored by Adena Health System (16 hour "move minutes" goal). There are prizes and drawings for both challenges! There will be a drive-thru kickoff event in the CHS student parking lot on Wednesday June 9 from 6-7:30pm.

We also have lots of fun events planned for this summer. Some things will still be offered virtually, but we will be hosting some in-person events outdoors too. We'll have book clubs, a paint night, yoga, and more in the picnic shelter at our Northside Branch. If weather or health restrictions prevent us from meeting in-person outdoors, we'll hold these events virtually.

Starting this week, we've also extended our hours, and you can reserve some of our meeting spaces. In order to keep our spaces safer for everyone, while making them available to as many groups as possible, we will be limiting the number of people who can be in each room, and the length of each reservation.

Come visit with our staff out and about at community events this month too! We'll be at the Farmer's Market on Saturday June 19, with "Take and Make" activities and books from the Friends of the Library sale. On Saturday June 26, we'll be at the Promote Hope recovery event in Yoctangee Park. We'll be back in the park on Sunday June 27 for the Ross County Bicycle Rodeo. We have ordered bicycles for our new Book a Bike program, and hope they'll arrive in time to showcase at the Bicycle Rodeo.

As always, if you have suggestions for library events, I love to hear them. See you at the library!

Breathe Away Stress: Thursday June 17, July 1, and July 15 at 7pm (Northside Shelterhouse)

We welcome Rachel Bertner, who will be teaching this class. The series is for anyone looking to learn some basic breathing techniques and movements that support relief of common neck/back pain, general feelings of anxiety, and will commonly lower stress. This is an introductory series which means no previous experience is required. The recommendation of what to bring starts with curiosity. The goal of each session is to release some tension, get some energy moving, and end feeling lighter.

These classes will be held outdoors in the Northside Branch picnic shelter. If we can't hold a class in person outdoors, we will stream live on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.
