Good afternoon,

This month we've truly entered fall, and with the clocks falling back, the days get dark even earlier. If you're looking for some comfort on these chilly afternoons and evenings, the library has you covered. Our events may be virtual, but it's great to learn new things and see friendly faces any way we can.

Parking lot construction continues at Main Library, so if you plan to visit, please park on Paint St or Fifth Street.

Our county branches "take and make" activity kits were a hit last month, and will continue in November. Each kit includes materials and instructions for a fun craft or other activity. Please contact your local branch for details.

We are continuing with socially distant programs and services in November. Some events will be live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube. While you can watch these any time, we love having live views so we can answer questions from the comments! Our book clubs are happening on Zoom. It's not the same as in person, but it has been great seeing my book club friends again (and meeting new ones!). Please be sure to register for the book clubs so I can send you the Zoom invitation.

As always, if you have suggestions for library events, I love to hear them. See you at the library!

Drive-in Movies at Mt Logan

The fun continues with drive-in movies this month! Each movie starts at 6:30, but please plan to arrive early to secure your spot in the parking lot at Mt Logan. Your car radio is your sound system for the night, so be ready to tune in to the broadcast. You must remain in your car during the movie.

Friday November 13, 6:30 pm

Kids' night! Elsa the Snow Queen and her sister Anna embark on an adventure far away from the kingdom of Arendelle. They are joined by friends, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven.

Friday November 20, 6:30pm

Kick off the holiday season with a movie that features the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and helps a little girl and her mom believe in the magic of Santa.

Cooking and crafts

Crafty Monday - Luminaries: Monday November 9, 4pm (live streamed)

There's nothing quite like the magical glow of candles. In this class, we'll learn how to make pretty luminaries that you can customize.

*Take and make.* Registered participants will be able to pick up a kit of materials at Main, Northside, or Mt Logan.

This event will live-stream on our Facebook and YouTube pages.

Virtual Cooking Class: Tuesday November 10, 4:30pm (live streamed)

"Save a Turkey! Eat Pizza!" Johnna will show us how to make a whole wheat pizza dough and then top it with delicious and healthy toppings. This is a great meal for families to work on together.

This event will live-stream on our  Facebook  and  YouTube  pages.  Thank you to the OSU Ross County Extension Office for presenting this class.

Crafty Monday - Folded Leaves: Monday November 23, 4pm (live streamed)

These folded leaves are a relaxing craft for a fall afternoon. They are beautiful as table decorations, or strung onto a string as garland.

All you'll need is some colorful paper, scissors, and tape or glue. Magazine pages work well for this, or colored printer paper, but not construction paper.

This event will live-stream on our Facebook and YouTube pages.
