Other things happening in September:

National Cheese Pizza Day is September 5
It's widely believed that the humble cheese pizza is the perfect food. It's the ideal balance of carbs, protein, and fat. Add a variety of cheeses to your pie to celebrate. Smokey gouda or a little gorgonzola might mix it up. If you like a little cheddar, mild or sharp shredded across the top will do. Debates prevail over thin or thick crust. However, that debate is for another day. The cheese holds the spotlight on this occasion. It reheats wonderfully. And it's delicious for any meal.

National Guacamole Day is September 16

Learn to make your own guac for National Guacamole Day. All you need are a few avocados, diced red onion, diced tomato, cilantro, and lime. If you want to jazz up this classic Mexican dish, try adding a few diced jalapeños, chopped mango, mashed peas, or pomegranate seeds. There are many recipe variations to suit every tasteSince avocados fall under the superfood category, feel free to indulge. Packed full of good fats and nutrients, along with the fresh taste of lime and hint of spice, the dip is flavorful. Take it to work or use it for a party dish. Guacamole is versatile, too. For example, add it as a topping on a quesadilla or even add it to a salad. Of course, the simplest way to enjoy is by dipping your favorite tortilla chip.

National Coffee Day is September 29
Today, raise your coffee mug and toast to the roasted beans that keep us going. Looking for a few special ways to appreciate coffee? Try adding it to your favorite cocktail, coating coffee beans in chocolate, or blending a few beans into your favorite vanilla ice cream for a homemade coffee shake.
