Friends of the Library

Are you a local college student, looking for a unique service project? A parent with young children wanting to interact with other adults? A retiree looking for a way to volunteer in the community (but not too much of a time commitment)? Why not join the Friends of the Parsippany Library?

The Friends of the Library is a 501C3 volunteer organization that raises money and advocates for the Parsippany Public Library and its branches.

Volunteers are asked to pay a $15.00 membership fee to join. The group meets once a month (attendance is optional) and they are looking for officers for the organization, along with volunteers for the following assignments:

1.      Finance committee – Assist the treasurer in collecting income, making bank deposits and compiling a monthly report.

2.      Book Nook workers - The Book Nook, a used bookstore, is open 3 days in the Parsippany community center from 10 am to 3 pm.  Volunteers are needed once or twice a month to work a 2 hour shift.

3.      The Little Book Nook around the corner- In the Parsippany Library, 449 Halsey Road, volunteers meet on Mondays to sort through book donations and arrange them for sale in this section of the Library.

4.      Fundraisers - The Friends are always looking for fundraising ideas as well as for help with their fundraisers.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Friends President, Chris Liparini at cgliparini@gmail.com. Be a Friend and make some new friends!
