To celebrate Children's Day, the Mt. Tabor Branch Library will be closed on Saturday, August 4. The library will re-open on Monday, August 6 at 12:30pm.

 


 

Children and teens from birth to age 18 can still join the Summer Reading Club by picking up a reading log at one of our libraries!  

 

 



Silhouette Cameo 3 Training in the Makerspace

The Parsippany Library now owns a Silhouette Cameo 3 with editing software that enables the user to create endless possibilities to cut on paper, fabric, or heat transfer material.

We will be scheduling one hour training sessions over the summer if you are interested in learning more about the Silhouette.  Training is for ages 14 and up.

 

Choose from one of the following dates:

August 16 - 1 pm to 4 pm 

August 20 - 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

August 28 - 1 pm to 4 pm

The Music, Bubble, and Comedy Show:

This is a high-energy performance by Turtle Dance Music about why libraries rock! The show engages children of all ages with songs, comedy, bubbles, music technology and is crafted also for children on the Autism Spectrum. Each song is accompanied by hands-on, visual, and sensory experiences designed to help kids learn and have fun at the same time. Kids will dance, sing, and understand why libraries are so important for our future. Parents and caregivers are also welcome to join the fun.

 

Registration is not required, but only the first 100 children with an admission ticket will be admitted to this program.  Beginning at 6:30pm on July 31, stop by the Children's Desk for an admission ticket.  This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Parsippany Library and ADP.

 

 

 

 

Zumba for Kids

Summer is here and with that comes vacations. If you need help sharing your vacation photos or loading up your tablet with books for the beach, we can help you. Drop-in tech help will be held at the Main Library from 2:00pm-4:00pm on Thursdays.

 

Great American Read

Adults are invited to participate in the Great American Read this summer. PBS conducted a national survey in search of America’s 100 best-loved novels.

The Parsippany Library would like to know what your favorite is from this list. Stop by any of our library locations and pick up the 100 Great Reads list.  See how many you have read and vote weekly for your favorites. When you cast your vote, you are entered in a raffle!

The Library will announce Parsippany’s #1 Best Loved novel in September.

 

 

Friday Night Film at the Main Library - Avengers: Infinity War

This film is rated PG13 and runs approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Anyone 12 & under must be accompanied by an adult.

Join us in the depths of the Mad Science Laboratory where we harness the marvelous powers of liquids! Join us for a Mad "hands-on" experience as a Junior Mad Scientist! We'll create chemical reactions, learn to make bath fizzers, find out the secret to making chocolate taffy rolls and ooey gooey slime, create acid/base volcanoes and lots more!
