Vinyasa Yoga

Join us on the following Tuesdays:

Rebecca Manci, a certified yoga instructor, will teach one-hour vinyasa yoga classes.  Vinyasa yoga connects breath and movement to create an experience that is balanced both mentally and physically.

All levels are welcome.  Please bring a yoga mat to class.  Registration is not required, but there is a $5.00 fee per class.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Storytime

Ages birth-5
For any child not yet in kindergarten. Children will listen to stories and adult caregivers will learn about the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten reading initiative. Children already enrolled are welcome to join us. No registration required.

Tiny Tykes baby Storytime

In this very special storytime designed especially for our youngest residents, we will be sharing songs, rhymes, stories, and more!  No registration required.


Hour of Code: Lightbot

Grades 2-3

Students will use programming logic to solve problems on LIghtbot.  Please choose only one timeslot.  If you have already participated in this Hour of Code program, please do not register.  Registration is required and will begin on April 30 at 4:30pm.


Preschool Painters

Ages 2-5

Be prepared to get a little messy with this painting program for preschoolers.  We will read a few stories and then use sponges to create a masterpiece.  Registration is required and begins on May 3 at 11:00am.

Celebrate Mothers with Author Rena Trefman Cobrinik

Rena Trefman Cobrinik is the author of A Different Mother, a memoir that reflects the ongoing bonds between mother and daughter.  She will talk about the challenges and realities of caring for her aging mother.  Registration is required.



American Popular Songbook performed by Dan Crisci and Brynn Stanley

Enjoy an afternoon of music with pianist Dan Crisci and vocalist Brynn Stanley as they perform songs from the American Popular Songbook, including songs by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, and Rodgers and Hart.  Dan and Brynn will bring their own jazz styles to these timeless songs and share an original composition or two.



Healthy Brain Strategies

Gain valuable knowledge and learn exercises to help keep your brain healthy!

Dr. Papka will be here to share her 25 years combined experience as a researcher and clinician specializing in the field of aging, Alzheimer’s disease, and dementia. Registration is required.  Click here to register online.

Mount Tabor

New Jersey's Colonial Architecture Told in 100 Buildings

Local author David Veasey will speak about his book New Jersey's Colonial Architecture Told in 100 Buildings.  Pictures of a number of buildings from our colonial past that are still standing will be shown.


Friends of the Library 


Not sure what to do with the kids during those last two weeks of August?

The Friends of the Parsippany Library have partnered with Mad Science and Dawn Lau Dance Company to offer Parsippany students the opportunity to participate in half-day science and arts camps, with $20 of each registration going back to the Friends of the Parsippany Library.  

Camp will be offered at both the Main Library and Lake Hiawatha locations.  Be sure to choose the information specific to your desired location.  

The Friends will donate this money to the library for the purchase of additional children's programming and materials.
