Global Youth Service Day

10 am- 12 pm
 
Global Youth Service Day is a community service event planned, promoted, and led by youth volunteers.  Children in grades K-7 can drop in between 10:00am-12:00pm and work with teen volunteers to complete special Earth Day projects.  Join us for a special Earth Day storytime at 11:00 am.  Registration is not required.
 
 
Zumba for Kids

Ages 5-11
Learn some new moves and have fun exercising with Zumba!  Comfortable clothes and sneakers are recommended.  No registration required.

From Seed to Plant

Children will learn about and identify types of seeds, plants, and trees and begin their own seedling in a baggie to take home.

It's a Beautiful Day in the Library Neighborhood

JoAnn Young, producer and writer, will discuss the making of the Mister Rogers PBS documentary "It's You I Like."  Find out what it was like to work with the celebrities interviewed and how the whole project came together. This program is for adults, as well as high school and college students interested in communication and media.  Registration is required.  Click here to register online.

The Met Museum Four Ways

Without leaving your seat, take guided tours at the Met through slide art talks!

There is a $25.00 fee for all four sessions,  To register, please complete the registration form, which can be found online here and return it to the Main Library.  Registration is open until April 26.

 

New Jersey's Colonial Architecture Told in 100 Buildings

Local author David Veasey will speak about his book New Jersey's Colonial Architecture Told in 100 Buildings.  Pictures of a number of buildings from our colonial past that are still standing will be shown.

 


Friends of the Library 

 

Not sure what to do with the kids during those last two weeks of August?

The Friends of the Parsippany Library have partnered with Mad Science and Dawn Lau Dance Company to offer Parsippany students the opportunity to participate in half-day science and arts camps, with $20 of each registration going back to the Friends of the Parsippany Library.  

Camp will be offered at both the Main Library and Lake Hiawatha locations.  Be sure to choose the information specific to your desired location.  

The Friends will donate this money to the library for the purchase of additional children's programming and materials.

Become a Friend of the Library!

Every library needs a volunteer group and the Parsippany-Troy Hills Public Library System is no exception! The purpose of the Friends of the Parsippany Library, a 501C3 organization, is to raise money for special library programs and collections of library materials. 

The Friends also serve as advocates for the library and support any legislation that benefits libraries.

The Library Board and administration are looking for Friends members as well as Friends officers. Friends members are 18 years of age and older and pay an annual donation of $15 or more.
