Programs for Teens Main Library
Stempowher (STEM. Empower. Her.): Thinking Outside the Box November 9 7:00pm-8:30pm Grades 5-8 Stempowher is dedicated to empowering girls to develop a strong interest in STEM. We are strong believers in Benjamin Franklin’s, 'Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” Students will quickly see this as they participate in a set of interactive mind-opening activities, culminating in a hands-on building challenge. Since this is a student driven program, students will have the opportunity to request topics or projects of interest that they would like to explore in future workshops. Although this program is focused on girls due to their under representation in STEM, similar workshops will be open for boys in the future, as well. Registration is required. Register online here.
