Make a retirement card for Miss Netta!

                                      

Miss Netta, the Children’s Department Supervisor at the LAKE HIAWATHA BRANCH LIBRARY, is retiring.

Her last day working is Saturday, June 24th

We would like to invite you and your children to come to the Lake Hiawatha Children's Department and make Miss Netta a special card. We have all the supplies set up here at the library.

Discovery Center

Available when the library is open for preschool-early elementary school age children.  Our Discovery Center table has interactive manipulatives that help children build literacy concepts such as patterns, sorting, counting, building, and problem solving.

 

 

Bookmark Contest

For children in preschool through 8th grade.  Design a bookmark for our 4th Annual Summer Bookmark Contest and then vote for your favorite designs!  We'll turn the winning entriues into real bookmarks we'll give away at the library.  Pick up your entry form at the library starting on June 26.  Entries are due July 14.

Our Book Club  Kits contain 10 copies of the book, a reading guide, and discussion leader tips. Some kits also contain a DVD if the book was made into a film.

· The kit circulates as an entire set and is checked out to an individual cardholder.

· No more than one kit at a time may be checked out to an individual.

· Kits can be checked out for 28 Days.

· The replacement cost for  an entire kit is $75.00. The replacement costs of individual parts will depend on the cost of the individual item.

The sale includes paperback novels and audio books – including a small selection of non-fiction items (mainly in paperback).

 

Perfect for packing up for a summer vacation getaway no matter where your travels take you!  Also included will be a selection of books for the younger set.
