NJ Native Americans: Their History, Genealogy, and Artifacts @ the Main Library
Friday, July 29, 2-3:30 PM
Dr. Edwin Bliss Struve, a member of the Archeological Society of NJ and of Native American descent will discuss NJ Indian history from the 1600s to the present and the unique prehistoric archeology found in the Upper Passaic Valley.  Artifacts will be displayed and audience members are encouraged to bring their own.

Zootopia @ the Main Library!

Monday July 11, 2016 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

In a city inhabited by anthropomorphic animals who have abandoned traditional predator/prey roles in favor of civilized coexistence, uptight rabbit police officer Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) is forced to work with charismatic fox con artist Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) to crack a major case involving the mysterious disappearance of some carnivorous citizens. But when a few of the missing critters reappear, having reverted to pre-enlightenment savagery, it exposes existing anti-carnivore prejudice among the city's herbivores that threatens to damage the fabric of their diverse metropolis.

Exploring Web Development with HTML & CSS @ The Main Library

Session 1:  Wednesday, July 6, 5 pm

Session 2: Thursday, July 7, 5 pm

For students in grades 6-8.

This two session class introduces students to coding with HTML and CSS.  Students will get hands-on experience building their first website and learn the fundamentals of HTML and CSS.    Registration is required.  Register once for both sessions. It is highly recommended students attend both sessions.

John Andrews, an engineer with a passion for the natural sciences will show photos and describe little known animals in NJ: manatees, jellyfish and sponges in ponds, animals that alter their sex at will and more. This is an adult program and children ages 10+ are welcome.

Bookmark Contest @ Lake Hiawatha!!
for ages preschool to grade 8  
Stop by the Lake Hiawatha Children's Department to pick up a blank bookmark to design at home.  Entries MUST be returned no later than July 15th. Bookmarks will then be voted on, and the winners will have their bookmarks turned into real bookmarks we give away at the library!

Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to join us for this free yoga class offered by the Mountain Lakes YMCA. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat if you have one!  Registration is required.
