Library Closing Update
Starting Monday March 16, the Medford Public Library will be closed to the public. We will be open regular hours March 14 from 9-5. If you have holds waiting, please try and pick them up today if at all possible.
No fines will be charged for overdue materials until further notice so don't worry about returning what you have out. We would appreciate it if you could hold your returns until we reopen.
Starting Monday we will be offering a “no-contact pickup service”. Call us at 781-395-7950 if you have holds or would like us to put together a selection of items for you. We will check them out to you, put them in a bag, put your name on it, and leave them for you in the hallway outside the adult services entrance. We will be answering the phone from 9-5 if you wish to take advantage of this service. We will also be calling everyone when holds come through to offer this pickup service.
If you would prefer to freeze your holds during this time,
From the MLN catalog page, Log in to My Account and select the Holds tab.
Place a mark in the check box that appears on the right in the column headed "FREEZE". (This box only appears if your Hold is eligible to be suspended.)
To save this option to suspend a request, click on UPDATE LIST
To re-activate your hold, reverse the process by unchecking the box in the FREEZE column and click UPDATE LIST.
Don't forget that many of our eResources are available remotely. We have ebooks and audiobooks through the Hoopla and Overdrive services. We offer music streaming through Hoopla and Naxos. And we offer streaming film and tv through Kanopy and RB Digital which includes AcornTV and the Great Courses series. You will need your library card and a PIN number to access these sites. Please give us a call if you need help setting that up.
