They have donated over 14,000 items--hats, scarves, items for children, afghans, and more--to cancer patients, the needy, the homeless, and others. New faces are always welcome, and if you want to learn how to knit or crochet, they will teach you!

Living History Civil War Program. Saturday, October 6, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Join us for a trip through history! Local Civil War reenactors will be at the library for an interactive living history event. Displays will include information on the Union and Confederacy, Florida during the Civil War, 19th century weaponry and life on the Homefront.

Baby Storytime. Wednesday, October 3, 2018, 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. This story time will be for children ages birth to 18 mos.  Activities will foster development in pre-reading, motor, and social skills through the use of music, movement, finger-plays, and props.  We will finish our program each week with a free-play setting that provides plenty of opportunity for socialization for caregivers and babies alike.

Toddler Storytime. Wednesday, October 3, 2018, 11:15 a.m. – 11:35 a.m. Is your little one full of wiggles, jiggles, and giggles?  This story time is for children ages 16-18 mos. to around 2 1/2 years and will feature short stories, moving and grooving, singing, and activities to enhance the topics. With plenty of fun and excitement, we will not only touch on pre-reading skills, but spatial awareness, attention, motor development, and social skills as well.

Tai Chi. Monday, October 1, 2018, 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Join us for our all new Tai Chi classes! Bonnie’s Tai Chi Class brings all your physiological systems from digestion, cardiovascular, respiration, immunity and mental activity up to a higher level in a gentle and low impact manner. No movement is too difficult or strenuous as Bonnie modifies each movement to fit every student’s needs. Many of her students can work at different levels within the same class whether you are doing chair work due to an injury or studying in preparation to teach. Greater flexibility, core stability, improved balance, less fatigue, and reduced stress aid in the ability for her students to prevent and deal with issues such as Fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s, Arthritis, Joint Replacement, Lowering Blood Pressure, Depression, Anxiety and Breathing. Chair Yoga. Tuesday, October 2, 2018, 10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Join our volunteer teacher for an all new Chair Yoga program! A signed liability waiver is required. The fitness goals for this program are to improve balance and increase endurance, flexibility, and range of motion. The class is taught in seated and standing positions using a chair as a prop. Research shows that people with Parkinson's Disease can benefit from activities such as Chair Yoga. Please bring water and wear comfortable clothing. If you wish to relax on the floor for the final pose, feel free to bring a yoga mat, towel or blanket.

Come learn about all the different parts of the machine and how they are used. We will get a lot of practice on the machine, doing things like: threading the machines needle and bobbin, and other basics, as well as sewing lines and curves, and different spacing. Registration and completion of waivers and safety forms required.
