Coding for Kids. Monday, September 24, 2018, 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Learn how to design your own characters, produce animations, and create video games using the programming language Scratch! If you have a laptop you'd like to use, please bring it in. If you don't have one, you can use one of ours. This program is a six-week course for kids in grades 2-7, and attendance all six weeks is required. Registering for the first week will guarantee you a spot in every week of the course.

Baby Storytime. Wednesday, September 26, 2018, 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. This story time will be for children ages birth to 18 mos.  Activities will foster development in pre-reading, motor, and social skills through the use of music, movement, finger-plays, and props.  We will finish our program each week with a free-play setting that provides plenty of opportunity for socialization for caregivers and babies alike.

Toddler Storytime. Wednesday, September 26, 2018, 11:15 a.m. – 11:35 a.m. Is your little one full of wiggles, jiggles, and giggles?  This story time is for children ages 16-18 mos. to around 2 1/2 years and will feature short stories, moving and grooving, singing, and activities to enhance the topics. With plenty of fun and excitement, we will not only touch on pre-reading skills, but spatial awareness, attention, motor development, and social skills as well.

Observational Drawing. Monday, September 24, 2018, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Are you an artist or art lover looking to improve your drawing skills? Join us at the library as we learn about historical and contemporary drawing practices, and enhance our skills through various observational methods. All experience levels welcome. All supplies (easels, charcoal, 18x24" newsprint paper, and drawing subjects) will be provided, however you are welcome to bring your own paper and drawing tools if you wish. Yoga for Stress Relief. Monday, September 24, 2018, 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The purpose of yoga is to increase overall well-being by reducing stress and tension and by increasing flexibility, strength and enhancing breathing ability. This free class offers fundamental techniques tailored to the level of ability and fitness of the participants with an emphasis on relaxation and mindfulness throughout the practice. Ongoing classes will enable participants to develop their practice at an appropriate gradual pace. Attire: Comfortable exercise clothing. Accessories: Large beach towel or yoga mat. Foundry Open Hours: Scroll Saws. Tuesday, September 25, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Join us in The Foundry for open hours. On Tuesday mornings through September we will have instruction on the scroll saw during our open build sessions. Completion of all forms and safety training is required. Chair Yoga. Tuesday, September 25, 2018, 10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Join our volunteer teacher for an all new Chair Yoga program! A signed liability waiver is required. The fitness goals for this program are to improve balance and increase endurance, flexibility, and range of motion. The class is taught in seated and standing positions using a chair as a prop. Research shows that people with Parkinson's Disease can benefit from activities such as Chair Yoga. Please bring water and wear comfortable clothing. If you wish to relax on the floor for the final pose, feel free to bring a yoga mat, towel or blanket.

Cooking Matters in Your Community. Thursday, September 27, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. The Family and Consumer Sciences Agent from UF/Pasco County Extension will be teaching this 4-week program.  Topics include how to identify whole grains vs. refined grains, reading food labels, healthy fast food options, and more! Learn all about nutrition and healthy eating while sampling easy and healthy recipe ideas.  These workshops are free, and those who attend will receive free giveaway items and be entered into a drawing.
