Knitters for Charity.Friday, August 3, 2018, 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Join this fun group to knit and crochet for charity. They have donated over 14,000 items–hats, scarves, items for children, afghans, and more–to cancer patients, the needy, the homeless, and others. New faces are always welcome, and if you want to learn how to knit or crochet, they will teach you!

Summer Reading Final Party – Cesar the Magician! Friday, August 4, 2018, 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Come celebrate the end of the 2018 Summer Reading Program with Cesar the Magician! Cesar's Comedy Magic Show is dynamic and full of humor for both kids and adults. But be warned...he may just recruit you to help him perform his magic tricks. Enjoy light refreshments after the show. Florida Orchestra Petting Zoo. Tuesday, July 31, 2018, 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Presented by the North Suncoast Associates volunteers, the Instrument Petting Zoo offers young children and their families an opportunity to see, touch, hear, and play the instruments of the orchestra. This program provides a unique, free opportunity for children to deepen their understanding of the orchestra, and encourages future enjoyment and participation in instrumental music.

Midweek Musicals. Wednesday, August 1, 2018, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. The JETS and SHARKS face off in this modern remake of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet!  Light refreshments provided courtesy of the Friends of the South Holiday Branch library.

SRC Final Party – Happi Holli Puppet Workshop. Thursday, August 2, 2018, 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Join us to celebrate the end of our SUMMER READING PROGRAM with a puppet workshop! The Happy Holli Puppet Workshop presented by Bits and Pieces Puppetry is a one-hour workshop filled with imagination, paper, fabric and feathers. Once built, the puppets are brought to life using creative dramatics techniques for classroom enjoyment. It’s fun for every age and everyone leaves with their magical friend. Grades K through 5 and their families.

SRC Final Party starring Silly Sam. Friday, August 3, 2018, 11:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Join us to celebrate the end of our SUMMER READING PROGRAM with a celebration full of singing, dancing, and silliness with Silly Sam! Kids will love this interactive, energetic, and super-silly musical performance that will have them moving, grooving, and laughing at the library. Did we mention there will also be balloons? For babies, toddlers, pre-K children and their families.

Rock the Ceiling. Monday, July 30, 2018, 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Join us from 3-5pm on Mondays from June 4th to August 6th to paint your own ceiling tile with your favorite book cover! We will have paints and materials set up for you to use. Leave your tile here or bring it home to work on. The tiles will be hung in the library, so come out and show how much you love your Land O' Lakes branch. We will have a Showcase of all the tiles at our Final Summer Party August 11th from 10a-4p. Light snacks and drinks will be provided. All tiles will be hung in the library for years to come. All ages welcome.

Chair Yoga. Tuesday, July 31, 2018, 10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Join our volunteer teacher for an all new Chair Yoga program! A signed liability waiver is required. The fitness goals for this program are to improve balance and increase endurance, flexibility, and range of motion. The class is taught in seated and standing positions using a chair as a prop. Research shows that people with Parkinson's Disease can benefit from activities such as Chair Yoga. Please bring water and wear comfortable clothing. If you wish to relax on the floor for the final pose, feel free to bring a yoga mat, towel or blanket.

Make Like the Masters: Pre-Teen Art Workshop. Thursday, August 2, 2018, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Join us in the Makerspace the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month this summer for a hands-on art workshop. In each workshop, we will learn about a different art practice throughout history, and then make a creation of our own! In this session, we will learn about Aboriginal Art and people of Australia and make our own Aboriginal art piece. Registration and a signed waiver required.

Fused Glass Pendant/Earrings. Saturday, August 4, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Join us in The Foundry for another awesome fused glass class! This time you will be making a pendant and a pair of earrings! Registration and a signed waiver is required.

Sewing Basics 101. Saturday, August 4, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. In this class patrons will become familiar with the sewing machine and practice by stitching a small craft item! Come learn about all the different parts of the machine and how they are used. We will get a lot of practice on the machine, doing things like: threading the machines needle and bobbin, and other basics, as well as sewing lines and curves, and different spacing. Completion of all forms and safety training is required. Registration necessary.

Play, Make, Discover! – Silly Dance Party! Saturday, August 4, 2018, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Join us for our "Little Makers" program series. On select Saturdays we will have a different program for toddlers and preschoolers to play, make, and discover! The first and third Saturday of each month is our Silly Dance Party! Come dance and play the morning away! Toddlers and Preschooler.
