Mad Science! Tuesday, June 12, 2018, 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. In this special event, children will unlock the mystery of sound using ordinary items to make spectacular noises. They will hear a pipe sing, participate in a massive sound wave, and warp an unsuspecting volunteer’s voice for cool special effects. Eating a “pickle” will never be the same after experiencing this exciting show​! "Sounds Like Science" is presented by Mad Science and the event is free.

They have donated over 14,000 items–hats, scarves, items for children, afghans, and more–to cancer patients, the needy, the homeless, and others. Score: Creating a Successful Business Plan. Wednesday, June 13, 2018, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. The Business Plan is the manual that guides the company’s daily operation and activity towards the goals and objectives that have been established.  The plan answers the - who, what, when, where, how and whys of your company.  Who are you? What are you going to do?  Where are you going to do it? When are you going to do it?  How are you going to be successful?  Why does this make good business sense?  You will learn what data is required to write your plan, review the techniques used to acquire it, and how to use this data to establish realistic goals and objectives. Instructional handouts, sample plans, and business development material will be distributed to all seminar participants.

Rock the Ceiling. Monday, June 11, 2018, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Join us from 3-5pm on Mondays from June 4th to August 6th to paint your own ceiling tile with your favorite book cover! We will have paints and materials set up for you to use. Leave your tile here or bring it home to work on. The tiles will be hung in the library, so come out and show how much you love your Land O' Lakes branch. All tiles will be judged August 6th at the Rock the Ceiling final party from 3-5pm. Light snacks and drinks will be provided. First prize is eternal glory! All tiles will be hung in the library for years to come. All ages welcome.

Woodworking 101: Crazy Directional Signs. Monday, June 11, 2018, 3:00 p.m. –5:00 p.m. Join us in The Foundry to learn the basics of woodworking. In this class you will be making a crazy directional sign. You will be using the scroll saw to cut out arrows and then painting them. Registration, safety forms, and a wavier are required.

Yoga for Stress Relief. Monday, June 11, 2018, 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The purpose of yoga is to increase overall well-being by reducing stress and tension and by increasing flexibility, strength and enhancing breathing ability. This free class offers fundamental techniques tailored to the level of ability and fitness of the participants with an emphasis on relaxation and mindfulness throughout the practice. Ongoing classes will enable participants to develop their practice at an appropriate gradual pace. Attire: Comfortable exercise clothing. Accessories: Large beach towel or yoga mat. LOL Card Club. Tuesday, June 12, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Join our LOL Card Club to play the card game hand and foot! New and veteran players welcome! For adults.

Chair Yoga. Tuesday, June 12, 2018, 10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Join our volunteer teacher for an all new Chair Yoga program! A signed liability waiver is required. The fitness goals for this program are to improve balance and increase endurance, flexibility, and range of motion. The class is taught in seated and standing positions using a chair as a prop. Research shows that people with Parkinson's Disease can benefit from activities such as Chair Yoga. Please bring water and wear comfortable clothing. If you wish to relax on the floor for the final pose, feel free to bring a yoga mat, towel or blanket.

Teen Volunteer Training. Tuesday, June 12, 2018, 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. This is the training session to become a teen volunteer at the Land O' Lakes Library. Teen “Toastmasters”: Cooking Class. Wednesday, June 14, 2018, 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Not your parents' Toastmasters; this is a cooking class. Our teens will delve into the world of toasted breads. Our second class will be QUESADILLAS we'll be making a classic quesadilla with Mexican cheese, salsa, and sour cream. We'll also put a Greek twist on the classic quesadilla with some feta, tzatziki, on pita bread. Come hungry! SIGNED WAIVER IS REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE.

Read with Charlie. Thursday, June 14, 2018, 4:00 p.m. – 4:15 p.m., 4:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. – 4:45 p.m., and 4:45 – 5:00 p.m. Join our newest reading dog, Charlie!
