Baby Storytime. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. This story time will be for children ages birth to 16-18 mos.  Activities will foster development in pre-reading, motor, and social skills through the use of music, movement, finger-plays, and props. We will finish our program each week with a free-play setting that provides plenty of opportunity for socialization for caregivers and babies alike.

Toddler Storytime. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, 11:15 a.m. – 11:35 a.m. Is your little one full of wiggles, jiggles, and giggles?  This story time is for children ages 16-18 mos to around 2 1/2 years and will feature short stories, moving and grooving, singing, and activities to enhance the topics.  With plenty of fun and excitement, we will not only touch on pre-reading skills, but spatial awareness, attention, motor development, and social skills as well.

Preschool Storytime. Yoga for Stress Relief. Monday, May 14, 2018, 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The purpose of yoga is to increase overall well-being by reducing stress and tension and by increasing flexibility, strength and enhancing breathing ability. This free class offers fundamental techniques tailored to the level of ability and fitness of the participants with an emphasis on relaxation and mindfulness throughout the practice. Ongoing classes will enable participants to develop their practice at an appropriate gradual pace. Attire: Comfortable exercise clothing. Accessories: Large beach towel or yoga mat. Guided Open Build – Scroll Saws. Tuesday, May 15, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Join us on Tuesday mornings in May for a special session of our Foundry Open Build. This month we will have a volunteer teacher who will be showing you the basics of the scroll saw to make wooden toys. A waiver and safety form will be required. If you do not have one on file, you can fill one out before the class. Please watch the scroll saw safety video (on the Land O’ Lakes Events Calendar website) before you attend the class.

READ with Charlie the Dog. Tuesday, May 15, 2018, 4:00 p.m. – 4:15 p.m., 4:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. – 4:45 p.m., 4:45 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Join our newest reading dog, Charlie! Reading dogs help children develop the skills they need to read in a relaxed environment. You can bring your own book or read one of ours. Please call the library at 813-929-1214 to schedule your spot. Charlie will be available for 15-minute increments. A signed waiver is required. Registration opens weekly.

Teen Volunteer Training. Tuesday, May 15, 2018, 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. This is the training session to become a teen volunteer at the Land O' Lakes Library. If you are interested in being a volunteer please fill out the form on our website (pascolibraries.org) and then call the library at 813-929-1214 to register for a training session. Training sessions are limited to 10.

Teen Advisory Board Meeting. Tuesday, May 15, 2018, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Join us on the third Tuesday of every month to plan upcoming teen programs and learn about volunteer opportunities! Ages: 12-18.

Beginner Mahjong. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Join us to learn how to play Mahjongg. This class is designed for beginners. Registration is required.

Crochet for Beginners. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Join us in The Foundry to learn the basics of crocheting. Participants will practice by making a small item to take home. Ages: 9+. You can now register online or call the library at 813-929-1214! Please make sure to read the waiver and safety forms.  If we do not have a form on file for you, you will be asked to sign one when you come to the class. All minors MUST have forms filled out by a guardian.

Chair Yoga. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, 10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Join our volunteer teacher for an all new Chair Yoga program! A signed liability waiver is required. The fitness goals for this program are to improve balance and increase endurance, flexibility, and range of motion. The class is taught in seated and standing positions using a chair as a prop.  Research shows that people with Parkinson's Disease can benefit from activities such as Chair Yoga. Please bring water and wear comfortable clothing. If you wish to relax on the floor for the final pose, feel free to bring a yoga mat, towel or blanket.

Intermediate Mahjong. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, 12:00 p.m. — 3:00 p.m. Join us for Intermediate Level Mahjong. This session is designed for those who already know how to play or who have attended our beginner classes. Registration is required.

Free entry. $5 gets you access to the VIP room which includes: pizza, video games, and snacks. Ages: 13-18.
