Baby Storytime. Wednesday, May 2, 2018, 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. This story time will be for children ages birth to 16-18 mos.  Activities will foster development in pre-reading, motor, and social skills through the use of music, movement, finger-plays, and props. We will finish our program each week with a free-play setting that provides plenty of opportunity for socialization for caregivers and babies alike.

Guided Open Build – Scroll Saws. Tuesday, May 1, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Join us on Tuesday mornings in May for a special session of our Foundry Open Build. This month we will have a volunteer teacher who will be showing you the basics of the scroll saw to make wooden toys. A signed liability form is required

Tai Chi. Tuesday, May 1, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Bonnie’s Tai Chi Class brings all your physiological systems from digestion, cardiovascular, respiration, immunity and mental activity up to a higher level in a gentle and low impact manner. No movement is too difficult or strenuous as Bonnie modifies each movement to fit every student’s needs. Many of her students can work at different levels within the same class whether you are doing chair work due to an injury or studying in preparation to teach. Greater flexibility, core stability, improved balance, less fatigue, and reduced stress aid in the ability for her students to prevent and deal with issues such as Fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s, Arthritis, Joint Replacement, Lowering Blood Pressure, Depression, Anxiety and Breathing. A signed liability waiver is required.

READ with Charlie the Dog. Tuesday, May 1, 2018, 4:00 p.m. – 4:15 p.m., 4:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. – 4:45 p.m., 4:45 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Join our newest reading dog, Charlie! Reading dogs help children develop the skills they need to read in a relaxed environment. You can bring your own book or read one of ours. Anime Club. Tuesday, May 1, 2018, Join us on the first Tuesday of every month to check out the latest anime and learn about Japanese culture. Ages: 12-18.

Master Gardner: How to Create Terrariums. Tuesday, May 1, 2018, 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. A terrarium is a collection of small plants growing in a clear enclosed container. Join us at this FREE UF/IFAS Pasco Extension seminar to see a demonstration explaining the steps and procedure for planting and caring for a terrarium. We will also go over a list of notable plants to use for terrariums with several examples of containers, plants and how to solve problems with terrariums.

Beginner Mahjong. Wednesday, May 2, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Join us to learn how to play Mahjongg. This class is designed for beginners. Registration is required.

Crochet for Beginners. Wednesday, May 2, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Join us in The Foundry to learn the basics of crocheting. Participants will practice by making a small item to take home. Registration and a signed liability form is required.

Yoga for Stress Relief. Thursday, May 3, 2018, 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. The purpose of yoga is to increase overall well-being by reducing stress and tension and by increasing flexibility, strength and enhancing breathing ability. This free class offers fundamental techniques tailored to the level of ability and fitness of the participants with an emphasis on relaxation and mindfulness throughout the practice. Ongoing classes will enable participants to develop their practice at an appropriate gradual pace. Attire: Comfortable exercise clothing. Accessories: Large beach towel or yoga mat. Sewing Basics 101 – TBA. Saturday, May 5, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. In this class patrons will become familiar with the sewing machine and practice by stitching a small craft item! Come learn about all the different parts of the machine and how they are used. We will get a lot of practice on the machine, doing things like: threading the machines needle and bobbin, and other basics, as well as sewing lines and curves, and different spacing. Registration and a signed liability form is required.

Play, Make, Discover! – We’re in a Book! Saturday, May 5, 2018, 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. Join us for our "Little Makers" program series. On select Saturdays we will have a different program for toddlers and preschoolers to play, make, and discover! The first and third Saturday of each month is our Silly Dance Party!
