They have donated over 14,000 items--hats, scarves, items for children, afghans, and more--to cancer patients, the needy, the homeless, and others. New faces are always welcome, and if you want to learn how to knit or crochet, they will teach you!

Music with Mar with Ms. Colleen. Saturday, February 3, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Music with Mar. is an internationally known, research-based educational music class designed for children and their caregivers. Children will be exposed to puppets, books, and music and will have the opportunity to sing, dance, and play instruments. Classes are designed to enhance & promote basic social, motor, language and cognitive skills for children ages 0-6.

Tai Chi. Monday, January 29, 2018, 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Join us for our all new Tai Chi classes! Bonnie’s Tai Chi Class brings all your physiological systems from digestion, cardiovascular, respiration, immunity and mental activity up to a higher level in a gentle and low impact manner. No movement is too difficult or strenuous as Bonnie modifies each movement to fit every student’s needs. Many of her students can work at different levels within the same class whether you are doing chair work due to an injury or studying in preparation to teach. Greater flexibility, core stability, improved balance, less fatigue, and reduced stress aid in the ability for her students to prevent and deal with issues such as Fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s, Arthritis, Joint Replacement, Lowering Blood Pressure, Depression, Anxiety and Breathing. Social Seniors: Salsa Social. Thursday, February 1, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Join our group of Social Seniors for coffee, cake, and conversation. This month we will have a special guest, Dancing with Grace. Don't feel like dancing? Just eat the salsa! Grace is an expert at accommodating different modalities. Get involved at the library by offering programming suggestions. Or, take this time to meet new friends, discuss common interests, and engage in recreational activities. Occasional workshops on topics of interest may be scheduled. Ages: 55+ Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Land O’ Lakes Library.

Sewing Basics 101 – TBA. Saturday, February 3, 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. In this class patrons will become familiar with the sewing machine and practice by stitching a small craft item! Come learn about all the different parts of the machine and how they are used. We will get a lot of practice on the machine, doing things like: threading the machines needle and bobbin, and other basics, as well as sewing lines and curves, and different spacing. Ages 9+.
