Creepy Reptiles and Invertebrates. Monday, October 16, 2017, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Join us to celebrate as the Land O' Lakes Library resumes Monday hours. This afternoon we will have a presentation by Pinellas Co Reptiles. There will be live animals at this event! Ages: All.

Yoga for Stress Relief. Monday, October 16, 2017, 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The purpose of yoga is to increase overall well-being by reducing stress and tension and by increasing flexibility, strength and enhancing breathing ability. This free class offers fundamental techniques tailored to the level of ability and fitness of the participants with an emphasis on relaxation and mindfulness throughout the practice. Ongoing classes will enable participants to develop their practice at an appropriate gradual pace. Attire: Comfortable exercise clothing. Accessories: Large beach towel or yoga mat. Tai Chi. Monday, October 16, 2017, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Join us for our all new Tai Chi classes! Bonnie’s Tai Chi Class brings all your physiological systems from digestion, cardiovascular, respiration, immunity and mental activity up to a higher level in a gentle and low impact manner. No movement is too difficult or strenuous as Bonnie modifies each movement to fit every student’s needs. Many of her students can work at different levels within the same class whether you are doing chair work due to an injury or studying in preparation to teach. Greater flexibility, core stability, improved balance, less fatigue, and reduced stress aid in the ability for her students to prevent and deal with issues such as Fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s, Arthritis, Joint Replacement, Lowering Blood Pressure, Depression, Anxiety and Breathing. Ages: Adult. A signed liability waiver is required.

Essential Oils 101. Tuesday, October 17, 2017, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Join us for an all new Foundry class, Essential Oils 101! In this class, our volunteer teacher will explain the basics of what essential oils are, where they come from, and how they can be used. She will also bring in samples so that students can experience the pure oils. Ages: 16+. Completion of a liability waiver, registration, and proper dress code is required. Gear Up for NaNoWriMo! Thursday, October 19, 2017, 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) is upon us! During this exciting challenge, writers begin writing on November 1st and work towards completing a 50,000 word novel by November 30th. The Land O' Lakes Library will be holding several sessions to help you meet your goal, or just to help you learn more about the writing process. Join us for our first meeting on October 19th to discuss the writing process and take part in some fun writing exercises. Ages: Adult/Teen.

Sewing Basics 101. Saturday, October 21, 2017, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Ages: 9+. In this class patrons will become familiar with the sewing machine and practice by stitching a small craft item! Come learn about all the different parts of the machine and how they are used, including: the feed dogs, presser feet, and bobbin. We will get a lot of practice on the machine, doing things like: threading the machines needle and bobbin, and other basics, as well as sewing lines and curves, and different spacing.
