9th Annual Anti-Prom. Friday, May 12, 2017, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Hate prom?  Don't have a date? Well, we’ve got you covered!  Anti-Prom is FREE and celebrates all things NOT prom. Our professional DJ will be spinning nothing but your requests and dance hits all night. Plus, you can enjoy chips, soda, Monster-spike punch,... and even a piñata! You can also donate $5 to the Friends of the Library to get admission to our separate VIP Room, with free pizza, full cans of Monster, and all the video games you can handle. Kumihimo Class for Beginnners. Saturday, May 13, 2017, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Kumihimo is traditional Japanese braiding that goes back to the day of the samurai. This class will provide an opportunity to learn the technique of using two colors to make a round braid, using 8 cords on the disk. We will learn the basics of kumihimo: building your toolkit; choosing braiding material; determining amount of braiding material; setting up your disk; making a bracelet. The possibilities of braiding are endless – depends on the number and size of cords used and your imagination. Ages: 9-15. Proper dress code, registration, and a signed liability waiver is required.
