Knit Happens! Yarn Arts Circle. Monday, April 3, 2023, 10:00 a.m. — 12:00 p.m.
Join us for our bi-weekly needlework circle! All portable fabric arts are welcome. This is a chance to bring your own project and meet with others to chat about your creations, so some prior experience is recommended.
Basic supplies will be available to start projects. This group is intended for ages 16 and older.

Toddler Storytime (Session 1). Tuesday, April 4, 2023, 10: 15 a.m. — 10:45 a.m.
This program is for children ages 1 to 3 and includes stories, songs, and activities based on the foundations of early literacy - read, write, sing, talk, play. 
The room will be limited to 20 children per session. Please stop at the Service Desk upon arrival to get a ticket to for the session of your choosing. Tickets are available day of and are first come, first serve.

This program is identical to the storytime at 11:00 am and is for children ages 1 to 3. It includes stories, songs, and activities based on the foundations of early literacy - read, write, sing, talk, play.

After School Gaming. Tuesday, April 4, 2023, 3:30 p.m. — 4:00 p.m.
Game with us after school! Video and tabletop games will be available.

Baby Storytime. Wednesday, April 5, 2023, 10:15 a.m. — 10:45 a.m.
This lap-sit program is meant to instill the love of reading in children at an early age. It is suitable for babies up to 1-year-old and their caregiver(s). Registration is no longer required for this program. 

Level Up! Wednesday, April 5, 2023, 3:45 p.m. — 5:00 p.m.
Bring your friends and play games at the library!  This program for students in K-5 will include video, card, and board games. Learn something new or play an old favorite. 

Hispanic Society Club. Wednesday, April 5, 2023, 5:30 p.m. — 6:30 p.m.
Gather together in this community-led club for an opportunity to learn and celebrate Hispanic heritage through stories, games, and crafts. The theme for this meeting will be "Puerto Rico, la isla del encanto."

Teen Advisory Board. Wednesday, April 5, 2023, 6:00 p.m. — 6:30 p.m.
Hi teens! Got a fun idea for a library program? Looking for a way to get involved in your community? If so, the library wants to hear from you. Join us at our next Teen Advisory Board meeting!
Important Note: This program is for teens, grades 8-12. Masks are not required but recommended.

This storytime is recommended for children (ages 3-5) along with their caregiver. Registration begins two weeks prior to the program.

Are you interested in digitizing your family photos? Are you wondering what's on those negatives in the closet shoe box?
Tuesday appointments are intended for beginners who need some guidance with using our photo scanners. Please call our Service Desk to make an appointment and utilize our photo scanners in our new Loft Makerspace. Our equipment can scan both negatives and developed photos. Learn to Paint and Draw (Better): Color. Tuesday, April 4, 2023, 5:30 p.m. — 7:30 p.m.
Join Earthchild Sarah every week as she teaches the basics of painting and drawing.
April is all about color. We will be working towards and impressionist painting. Learn how the color wheel works, why it's not the full story, how to mix paint, how to build color in layers and more.
Complete beginners to intermediate artists can come get expert guidance from someone who has been in the arts for nearly four decades. Learn how to improve your technique in watercolor, acrylics, pastels, graphite, charcoal, mixed media and more. We also cover the fundamentals of drawing such as composition, color, proportions, shading, texture etc. You can work on the suggested projects and exercises or bring in your art for advice and guidance on how to improve. Questions are welcome, community is encouraged. Materials are provided.

Free Studio Space in the Loft. Friday, April 7, 2023, 10:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.
Looking for a space to work on your creative projects? Our Loft Makerspace is dedicated to providing access to practice and education of studio arts, crafts, textiles, and photo digitization. We offer classes for all ages and encourage the belief that anyone can make art you just have to start! Every Friday we have tables available for artist reservation. Spread out your materials and soak up the atmosphere of our Loft makerspace. Reservations are for six hours (you can come anytime in that window), and our space will host up to four artists at one time. Sign up online or call during library open hours. Ages 16+

A staff person will be available to assist with sewing machines.  This activity is intended for ages 18 years & older or ages 9 & older with a parent or guardian.

Master Gardener: Container Gardens. Wednesday, April 5, 2023, 6:00 p.m. — 7:00 p.m.
Join us for this Master Gardener class at the Land O Lakes library with a guest speaker. We will be discussing the ins and outs of container gardening. Learn how to grow flowers and herbs in convenient containers. This easy method allows anyone to try their hand at growing just what they want, where they want. Practical ideas and resources provided will soon have you growing a beautiful container garden.

Teen Foundry Jenga Build. Thursday, April 6, 2023, 4:00 p.m. — 6:00 p.m.
In preparation for our big Gaming event on Sat. May 6th we are making our own giant Jenga set. This project is intended for teens (ages 13-18 years old) to learn some basic woodworking skills. Join our volunteers as we cut, sand, and paint our own Jenga set for use at the library. This project will take place over a few weeks. You may sign up for one or all of the times available.  Teen volunteers may receive volunteer hours for this service.

Yoga for Stress Relief. Thursday, April 6, 2023, 4:30 p.m. — 5:30 p.m.
This class is designed for patrons that were unable to attend the first class of the month.
Due to the popularity of this class, we have created a class to allow new participants a chance to enjoy the class. Attire: Comfortable exercise clothing. Accessories: Large beach towel or yoga mat.
Join us for this yoga class with Ruben Vasquez. The purpose of yoga is to increase overall well-being by reducing stress and tension and by increasing flexibility, strength and enhancing breathing ability. This free class offers fundamental techniques tailored to the level of ability and fitness of the participants with an emphasis on relaxation and mindfulness throughout the practice. Ongoing classes will enable participants to develop their practice at an appropriate gradual pace.
