Calling all adults (21 and older)! Spend your Sunday afternoon with us at the Wicked Pour, a taproom located in Odessa. There we'll be hosting our book club, Novels on Tap. This month’s selection is The Rose Code by Kate Quinn.

English Conversation Group. Wednesday, January 18, 2023, 2:00 p.m. — 3:00 p.m. & Friday, January 20, 2023, 10:00 a.m. — 11:30 a.m.
Practice your English-speaking skills in a group on Zoom. This is a fun, casual atmosphere to practice and improve your English. Speakers of all levels are welcome. We have a new topic for every meeting. The class will be hosted by Claudia from the South Holiday Library. Teen Open Studio. Sunday, January 15, 2023, 3:30 p.m. — 5:00 p.m.
Calling all teens! The library invites you to this self-guided art-based program. While here, you can use the provided art supplies to express yourself in any number of ways. We look forward to seeing what you create. Walk-ins are welcome at any time during this open studio.
Important note: This program is for teens, grades 8-12. Masks are recommended but not required.

Baby Storytime. Tuesday, January 17, 2023, 10:15 a.m. — 10:45 a.m.
This lap-sit program is meant to instill the love of reading in children at an early age. It is suitable for babies up to 1-year-old and their caregiver(s).

Toddler Storytime. Tuesday, January 17, 2023, 11:15 a.m. — 11:45 a.m.
This program is intended for children ages 1 to 3 and includes stories, songs, and activities. 

Tween Hangout. Tuesday, January 17, 2023, 3:30 p.m. — 4:00 p.m.
Do you like team challenges, crafts, or games? The opportunity to earn prizes? Join us after school in the courtyard! 

Teen Trivia Night. Wednesday, January 18, 2023, 6:00 p.m. — 7:00 p.m.
Teens, gather your groups of three for the return of our Trivia program. During this program, we’ll test your knowledge of a variety of topics including pop culture, superheroes, books, and movies. See you there!
Important note: This program is for teens, grades 8-12. Registration is required to attend. When registering, please do so in groups no larger than three. Masks are not required but recommended.

Preschool Storytime. Thursday, January 19, 2023, 10:15 a.m.—10:45 a.m. & 11:15 a.m. — 11:45 a.m.
This storytime is recommended for children (ages 3-5) along with their caregiver. Registration begins two weeks prior to the program.
Important Note: Registration is required for each child in attendance.

Adult Open Studio: Painting. Thursday, January 19, 2023, 5:30 p.m. — 7:30 p.m.
Join us for Adult Open Studio! This program is a self-guided exploration of painting through a variety of materials. We will provide some materials, but feel free to bring your own if you'd like. We will learn, practice, and share basic painting techniques and freely explore the medium of painting in a comfortable group environment. Walk-ins welcome any time during Open Studio. A staff member or volunteer will be present to guide any beginners. Open to all skill levels.

Free Play Friday. Friday, January 20, 2023, 11:00 a.m. — 12:00 p.m.
Join us for tons of fun at Free Play Friday!  This program will include crafts and play opportunities for children ages 2 to 4 years.  Registration is required.

Drop in for some Lego building fun! Bring a friend or family member. Try some of our challenges or just use our Lego blocks to build your own creations.

Brain Health Presentation. Saturday, January 21, 2023, 1:00 p.m. — 2:30 p.m.
Join guest speaker Riza Carlton for a presentation on ways to keep and maintain a healthier brain to prevent memory loss, stress, and other medical conditions.
This presentation is free and open to the public, no registration required.

DIY Macrame Plant Hanger -Hobby Month. Wednesday, January 18, 2023, 2:00 p.m. — 3:00 p.m.
Come make your own macrame plant hanger. Whether you have made a thousand of these or never tied a knot in your life you are welcome to join the workshop. Expert guidance will be available. Simple options for beginners or customize it the way you want. All materials are included but feel free to bring your own additions. If you have a specific plant pot in mind, bring that to make sure it fits.

This month's project is an old-style carpenter toolbox. All materials, tools and safety equipment will be provided.

Adult Literacy Tutor Training @ New River Library. Saturday, January 21, 2023, 10:15 a.m. — 4:30 p.m.
In Pasco County, 19% of adults struggle to read charts, instructions, and basic texts in their environment. Pasco County Libraries are currently looking for adults that would like to tutor these individuals. Come join us for a one-day training that will give you the confidence and tools to help these adults.

This course is open to drivers 50 and older.  Space is limited.  Registration is required.

You will learn:  Defensive driving techniques - Proven safety strategies - New traffic laws and rules of the road
Plus, there are no tests to pass. You simply sign up and learn. Upon Completion you could receive a 3-year discount on your car insurance.
