SYSTEMWIDE VIRTUAL & OUTREACH PROGRAMS

English Conversation Group. Wednesday, December 14, 2022, 2:00 p.m. — 3:00 p.m. & Friday, December 16, 2022, 10:00 a.m. — 11:30 a.m.
Practice your English-speaking skills in a group on Zoom. This is a fun, casual atmosphere to practice and improve your English. Speakers of all levels are welcome. We have a new topic for every meeting. The class will be hosted by Claudia from the South Holiday Library. Horror Book Club. Thursday, December 15, 2022, 6:00 p.m. — 7:00 p.m.
Join us for the next meeting of the Horror Book Club! The group will meet virtually on the third Thursday of every month. This book club will read and discuss horror books both contemporary and classic and primarily use Hoopla Digital for digital copies of the books. Due to the nature of the content, this book club will be for adults only.
For December's meeting, we will read Secret Santa by Andrew Shaffer.

This lap-sit program is meant to instill the love of reading in children at an early age. It is suitable for babies up to 1-year-old and their caregiver(s).

This program is intended for toddlers (ages two to three) along with their caregiver. Registration begins 2 weeks prior to the event.

Craft with us and create your own ornaments!

Hispanic Society Club. Wednesday, December 14, 2022, 5:30 p.m. — 6:30 p.m.
Gather together in this club for an opportunity to learn and celebrate Hispanic heritage through stories, games, and crafts. The theme for this meeting will be “Where are we from?"

Warm Up and Wind Down: Teen Movie Night. Wednesday, December 14, 2022, 6:00 p.m. — 7:30 p.m.

Preschool Storytime. Thursday, December 15, 2022, 10:15 a.m.—10:45 a.m. & 11:15 a.m. — 11:45 a.m.
This storytime is recommended for children (ages 3-5) along with their caregiver. Registration begins two weeks prior to the program.
Important Note: Registration is required for each child in attendance.
Masks are recommended but not required.

Guardian Ad Litem Information Session. Thursday, December 15, 2022, 1:30 p.m. — 2:30 p.m.
Be a Child’s Voice, Change a Child’s Story!
There are currently over 1,000 children in Pasco County in the foster care system.  Hundreds of these abused, neglected, and abandoned children are still waiting for someone to be their voice.  YOU can make a lifelong difference for a child by becoming a Guardian ad Litem.  We invite you to attend an information session at the Starkey Ranch TLC to learn more about how you can help.

Tabletop Times. Thursday, December 15, 2022, 5:00 p.m. — 7:00 p.m.
For veterans of tabletop RPGs and newcomers alike, we'll be playing weekly games of Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition at the Starkey Ranch TLC! You can come with a newly forged character or build one from scratch. Drop in and out whenever you want; the adventures are never-ending!
Recommended ages are between 10 - 17. Recommended party size is 3-4 players, but a hard cap will be placed at 6.

Drop in for some Lego building fun! Bring a friend or family member. Try some of our challenges or just use our Lego blocks to build your own creations.

Holiday Gift Wrapping - Open Hours. Saturday, December 17, 2022, 2:00 p.m. — 4:00 p.m.
Have some last-minute gifts that you need to wrap? We've got you covered! Bring your gifts and we'll supply everything else you need to 'wrap up' before the holiday season -- music, joy, and extra tape included! Feel free to bring a few of your own supplies as well.
This program is presented by Friends of the Starkey Ranch Library. Donations are accepted.

Letters for Santa! Thursday, December 15, 2022 — Thursday, December 15, 2022
Santa is getting ready to make his deliveries and needs to know what you want this year! Write a letter to Santa and put it in an envelope addressed to: Santa Claus, The North Pole. Bring it to the Hudson Regional Library and put it in Santa’s Special Mailbox. (No Postage Necessary). Each child who mails a letter will receive a personal reply from Santa. Remember to include your full name and address – so Santa knows where to send your letter!  Letters may be brought in anytime the library is open but no later than 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15th. Are you interested in digitizing your family photos? Are you wondering what's on those negatives in the closet shoe box?
Tuesday appointments are intended for beginners who need some guidance with using our photo scanners. Please call our Service Desk to make an appointment and utilize our photo scanners in our new Loft Makerspace. Our equipment can scan both negatives and developed photos. If you want to bring one friend who is also learning, we are happy to accommodate. Please read below for more details.

Join our Friends of the Library group for a new social event. Learn how you can support the library and the surrounding community while making new friends!
