SYSTEMWIDE VIRTUAL & OUTREACH PROGRAMS

English Conversation Group. Wednesday, November 16, 2022, 2:00 p.m. — 3:00 p.m. & Friday, November 18, 2022, 10:00 a.m. — 11:30 a.m.
Practice your English-speaking skills in a group on Zoom. This is a fun, casual atmosphere to practice and improve your English. Speakers of all levels are welcome. We have a new topic for every meeting. The class will be hosted by Claudia from the South Holiday Library. Preschool Storytime for children ages 3-5 years and their caregiver.  Registration will begin 2 weeks before the event and is required for each child.

Horror Book Club. Thursday, November 17, 2022, 6:00 p.m. — 7:00 p.m.
Join us for the next meeting of the Horror Book Club! The group will be meeting virtually on the third Thursday of every month. This book club will read and discuss horror books both contemporary and classic and primarily use Hoopla Digital for digital copies of the books. Because of the nature of the content, this book club will be for adults only.
For November, we will be reading No Gods for Drowning by Hailey Piper.

This lap-sit program is meant to instill the love of reading in children at an early age. It is suitable for babies up to 1-year-old and their caregiver(s).

Join the Master Gardeners for a presentation on how to grow flowers and herbs in convenient containers. These easy methods allow anyone to try their hand at growing just what they want, where they want. With these practical ideas and resources, you will soon be growing beautiful container gardens.

Guardian Ad Litem Information Session. Thursday, November 17, 2022, 1:30 p.m. — 2:30 p.m.
Be a Child’s Voice, Change a Child’s Story!
There are currently over 1,000 children in Pasco County in the foster care system.  Hundreds of these abused, neglected, and abandoned children are still waiting for someone to be their voice.  YOU can make a lifelong difference for a child by becoming a Guardian ad Litem.  We invite you to attend an information session at the Starkey Ranch TLC to learn more about how you can help.

Tabletop Times. Thursday, November 17, 2022, 5:00 p.m. — 7:00 p.m.
For veterans of tabletop RPGs and newcomers alike, we'll be playing weekly games of Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition at the Starkey Ranch TLC! You can come with a newly forged character or build one from scratch. Drop in and out whenever you want; the adventures are never-ending!
Recommended ages are between 10 - 17. Recommended party size is 3-4 players, but a hard cap will be placed at 6.

Film Event: Daughters of Anatolia. Saturday, November 18, 2022, 11:00 a.m. — 1:00 p.m.
Daughters of Anatolia follows a family of nomadic goat herders as they and their 350 animals travel ancient seasonal migration routes in Turkey. This film is an incredible inside-look of an ancient culture kept alive, and the families who celebrate their people's past. The showing will be introduced by Dr. Theodore Baird with a brief overview of the country of Turkey, its people, and its culture.

Career Assessment with Dr. Guy. Monday, November 14, 2022, 6:00 p.m. — 7:30 p.m.
Join Dr. Steven Guy and Dr. William Harris as they share tips and tricks regarding career assessment and evaluation. Dr. Steven Guy earned his PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology after spending many years working for global companies, including Frito-Lay. Prior to becoming a professor of psychology at Keiser University, he worked as an adjunct professor at other universities. He was also a consulting partner specializing in emotional intelligence in the workplace. Dr. William J. Harris has been teaching Business courses in the Tampa Bay area since 2010. He brings several decades of management experience to teaching to provide practical insights into the marketplace. Dr. Harris’s formal education includes a B.S in Business Administration, an M.B.A. in Finance, and a D.B.A. in Management.

The Wesley Chapel Lions Sight Program is offering free vision screenings for Pasco County Residents who cannot afford eye care. Diabetes screening is also provided. To qualify, please bring the following:

- Social Security Card
- Proof of need including: Rent/Mortgage, Basic Living Expenses (Electric, Gas, Fuel, Propane, Water/ Sewer, Trash)
