Mystery Book Club (Virtual): Hostage. Tuesday, November 8, 2022, 2:00 p.m. — 3:00 p.m.

Practice your English-speaking skills in a group on Zoom. This is a fun, casual atmosphere to practice and improve your English. Speakers of all levels are welcome. We have a new topic for every meeting. The class will be hosted by Claudia from the South Holiday Library. This lap-sit program is meant to instill the love of reading in children at an early age. It is suitable for babies up to 1-year-old and their caregiver(s). Registration begins 2 weeks prior to the program.

Audubon Christmas Bird Count - What is it? How do they do the count? How do you get involved? Saturday, November 12, 2022, 2:00 p.m. — 3:00 p.m.
The Christmas Bird Count (CBC) is the world's longest ongoing citizen science project.  The first count occurred on Christmas Day in 1900.  This year will be the 123 consecutive count.  2551 counts were turned in with the 2021 Christmas Bird Count. An amazing 42,217,206 birds were counted. West Pasco alone saw 162 species and 18,602 total birds.  Join the West Pasco Audubon at the Starkey Ranch TLC on Saturday, November 19 to hear more about this important project.

Cultivating Calm and Connection - Meditation Group. Saturday, November 12, 2022, 2:00 p.m. — 3:00 p.m.
Are you looking for more calm and meaning in your life? Join us to learn how meditation and mindfulness could change your life. This month we will be discussing the bestselling book Think Like a Monk by Jay Shetty. You’ll learn how to lessen your anxiety and have more peace and purpose in your life. The book is available in our physical collection and on Cloud Library as a digital audiobook and eBook.
Everyone is invited to join our meditation group. No experience necessary. The intention of this group is to help you start a meditation practice or deepen the one you already have by providing encouragement and support. We provide a safe place to engage in mindful discussions that will help you cultivate and grow your practice. Each month we will focus on an aspect of mindfulness, discuss our monthly book selection, and meditate together.
