Practice your English-speaking skills in a group on Zoom. This is a fun, casual atmosphere to practice and improve your English. Speakers of all levels are welcome. We have a new topic for every meeting. The class will be hosted by Claudia from the South Holiday Library. Horror Book Club. Thursday, October 20, 2022, 6:00 p.m. — 7:00 p.m.
Join us for the first meeting of the Horror Book Club! The group will be meeting virtually on the third Thursday of every month. This book club will read and discuss horror books both contemporary and classic and primarily use Hoopla Digital for digital copies of the books. Because of the nature of the content, this book club will be for adults only.
For October, we will be reading “A Head Full of Ghosts” by Paul Tremblay.

Learn How to Make Hard Cider and Mead. Wednesday, October 19, 2022, 6:30 p.m. — 7:30 p.m.
Learn how to make hard cider and mead.
The Pasco Brewers' Guild will:
- make a small batch of mead using local honey.
- make a batch of hard cider to be served at an upcoming festival.
- provide a great introduction to the brewing community.
- offer a chance to win a prize.
No alcohol will be served at this event.

Guardian Ad Litem Information Session. Thursday, October 20, 2022, 1:30 p.m. — 2:30 p.m.
Be a Child’s Voice, Change a Child’s Story!
There are currently over 1,000 children in Pasco County in the foster care system.  Hundreds of these abused, neglected and abandoned children are still waiting for someone to be their voice.  YOU can make a lifelong difference for a child by becoming a Guardian ad Litem.  We invite you to attend an information session at the Starkey Ranch TLC to learn more about how you can help.

Tabletop Times. Thursday, October 20, 2022, 5:00 p.m. — 7:00 p.m.
For veterans of tabletop RPGs and newcomers alike, we'll be playing weekly games of Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition at the Starkey Ranch TLC! You can come with a newly forged character or build one from scratch. Drop in and out whenever you want; the adventures are never-ending!
Recommended ages are between 10 - 17. Recommended party size is 3-4 players, but a hard cap will be placed at 6.

Tropical hibiscus are some of the most colorful and flamboyant flowers that can be grown in the subtropics. But why does a bush so often have no blooms, or the buds fall off, or they seem to attract a myriad of bugs? Come hear how one Pasco County Master Gardener Volunteer and hibiscus-lover has learned to take care of her hibiscus in spite of poor soil and infestations of several pests and diseases. Join us to make your hibiscus thrive as well. This program is presented by County Extension's Master Gardener Program.

Stress Relief & Mindfulness with Dr. Donnelly. Monday, October 17, 2022, 6:00 p.m.—7:30 p.m.
In recognition of World Mental Health Day, join us as Dr. Donnelly presents about stress relief and mindfulness. Dr. Jamie Donnelly is a health psychologist and school psychologist who has worked in the K-12 system for 15 years prior to coming on board at Keiser University as the Lead Psychology Faculty.  She is also an adjunct professor of psychology at Bethune-Cookman University. Dr. Donnelly has been published in journals and books and has presented at state and national conferences. Registration is recommended but not required.
