Join New River staff to discuss The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. Print copies are available at the New River Library circulation desk. Practice your English-speaking skills in a group on Zoom. This is a fun, casual atmosphere to practice and improve your English. Speakers of all levels are welcome. Baby Storytime. Tuesday, October 11, 2022, 10:15 a.m. — 10:45 a.m.
This lap-sit program is meant to instill the love of reading in children at an early age. It is suitable for babies up to 1-year-old and their caregiver(s). Registration begins 2 weeks prior to the program.
Important Note: Only a single registration under the baby's name is needed.

Toddler Storytime. Tuesday, October 11, 2022, 11:15 a.m. — 11:45 a.m.
This program is intended for toddlers (ages two to three) along with their caregiver. Registration begins 2 weeks prior to the event.

Master Gardener Seminar: Turf. Wednesday, October 12, 2022, 11:00 a.m. — 12:00 p.m.
Join the Master Gardeners for a presentation on Turf and the confusion about lawn care. Discover when the proper time is to fertilize, how much and when to water your lawn. Learn how to recognize and treat problem areas before they become big problems.
Sewing for Beginners. Wednesday, October 12, 2022, 4:00 p.m. — 5:30 p.m.
Join us to create a bowl cozy. All supplies will be provided. This class is for beginning sewers. We will be practicing sewing, turning, and using basic sewing tools. Sewing machines will be utilized for this project.
This class is for ages 9 years and older. Safety and Waiver forms are required. A guardian /parent must complete the form for anyone under the age of 18. Forms can be picked up at the Service Desk before the class.

Creative Writing Workshop - NaNoWriMo Prep. Wednesday, October 12, 2022, 6:00 p.m. — 7:45 p.m.
Have you always wanted to write a novel but never knew where to start? NaNoWriMo is a writing event held every November where writers from around the country attempt to write a novel in a month. This workshop is designed to prep any writer, first-time or veteran, for what they will need to brainstorm and plot an idea for the event, as well as organize a writing schedule to take on the challenge. Join a writing community that will encourage you to tell your story!

Tabletop Times. Thursday, October 13, 2022, 5:00 p.m. — 7:00 p.m.
For veterans of tabletop RPGs and newcomers alike, we'll be playing weekly games of Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition at the Starkey Ranch TLC! You can come with a newly forged character or build one from scratch. Drop in and out whenever you want; the adventures are never-ending!
Recommended ages are between 10 - 17. Recommended party size is 3-4 players, but a hard cap will be placed at 6.

The Exploring Movement and Meditation class will blend yoga, Pilates, calisthenics, and mediation. Please bring two light weights (2-5 pounds) and a yoga mat. If you don't have these items, you can bring a towel/blanket and two water bottles.
