January 1st is the 200th anniversary of the publication of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein! Written in 1818, Frankenstein tells the tale of scientist-inventor Victor Frankenstein and his creature. Shelley’s novel, and perhaps more notably Frankenstein’s “monster,” are long-lasting iconic figures in popular culture. Come browse our collection or search our online catalog for Frankenstein and other works it has inspired.

The library is bringing back Warm Up With a Good Book, our winter adult reading program where you can read or listen to books and win prizes. Pick up your reading log beginning Monday, January 22nd.  More information about the program will be available at the library and at www.edwardsvillelibrary.org.

The library will be Closed December 31st & January 1st for New Year's, and on January 15th for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
