February is Library Lovers’ Month! Stop in and check out our fantastic collection of books, movies, audio books and much, much more. You can also use your Edwardsville Library Card to access our numerous online resources. We'd be happy to assist you with our online services, or help you find items in the building.
Love movies? Join us for our Movie Matinees and Movie Nights. Movie Matinees for adults start at noon in our meeting room one Monday a month, and Movie Night for adults meets at 6:30 p.m. one Wednesday a month in our meeting room. Check with the Library for movie titles; we are unable to publish them due to our licensing agreement -- and for future dates.
• Our next Movie Matinee is on Monday, February 13 —Julia Roberts plays a legal assistant that uncovers a corporation’s ongoing pollution of a small town’s water supply.
• Our next Movie Night is on Wednesday, February 8—SNL skit hits the big screen. Wayne and Garth struggle with success after their public access show is picked up by a slick television producer.
Did you know you can register for programs online? You can register for Adult programs and Youth programs. To register, go to our homepage (www.edwardsvillelibrary.org), click on the blue "Register Here" box, select the program you want to register for and fill out the required information. If you prefer, you can still register for programs by calling us 618-692-7556.
The Library is offering free income tax preparation assistance again this year for people filing with an income of less than $54,000. The Library is partnering with the Gateway EITC Community Coalition to make these tax services available. Certified volunteer tax preparers will be at the Library from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays from January 28 through March 25. They will prepare and electronically submit federal income tax returns as well as returns for most states. Volunteers serve a limited number of people each week, so arrive early.
