READY FOR FALL & WINTER?
Fall is a busy time, not only at your house but at our library.  It has started already.

A sale of gently-used books for children and teens is going on now in the rotunda until December 14th.  There are many types of books and each will be individually marked at bargain prices.  This is a fine opportunity for parents and grandparents to do some early Christmas shopping.

Throughout November Carnegie’s will be collecting donations for the Glen/Ed pantry by offering a free book to everyone who brings in food or personal hygiene items. Always needed hygiene items are: toothpaste & brushes  combs, deodorant, shampoo, and toilet paper.   Look for the big box.   Tell the Carnegie’s attendant about your contribution and select your free book.

Coming in December, Carnegie’s will collect contributions for the Metro East Humane Society.  You can also get a free book by providing “presents for paws” – dog and cat food, cat litter, paper towels, bleach, regular bath towels and any pet or cleaning supplies are items always needed.  Again look for the big box, add your items, and tell the person on duty in the café in order to receive your free book.

At the end of November, you’ll begin to see a display of Christmas books, gift items and “almost new” books.  This is a great time for shopping.

DO YOU KNOW?
The library has a telescope available for check-out to library patrons. Patrons can also submit designs for approval to be made on our 3-D Printer. Ask at the adult check-out desk for more information.  The ELFs paid for these two items, thanks in part to your membership fees.  Take advantage of these two unusual library materials and services.   Our library is not just books and data bases.  Learn about all of our special services.
