HERE COMES THE BAND
The Edwardsville Muny Band has begun its summer concerts. The ELFs will be running the concession stand on Thursday, July 14th. Our reputation for providing some of the best “goodies” is at stake again. This is your chance to be an active ELF. You can provide some “goodies,” wrapped and sized to sell for 50 cents. Sign up in Carnegie’s or respond if called.

You can also work at the stand that night. We set up at 6:00 pm and serve before the band plays, during intermission, and after the concert.

We will also be selling books that night before the concert begins. Volunteers are needed for those tables, also.

OPPORTUNITY FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE
Know any high-school students (at least 16) who are looking for an opportunity to do community service? Tell them to contact the library. We’ll find a place for them!

ELFs ENJOY LUNCH
Recently the Carnegie ELFs enjoyed a lovely lunch provided as a “thank you” from the library. After lunch was served, a program on EPL history was presented by Mary Westerhold, Carole Peterson (as Sarah Coventry) and Jacob Del Rio, who had a slide show of changes in the library’s architecture through the years.

NEED A JOB?
Carnegie’s Books & Café is seeking new volunteers to fill out our schedule. Each shift is 2 hours. You can choose to work once a month, twice a month, once a week, or just be on the sub list.

The salary is ZERO, but the shop is cool in summer and warm in winter. In addition you will meet many nice people! Call Meg at 656-4508 for more information.

WHAT’S A 3-D PRINTER?
The ELFs paid for one for the library recently. Soon it will be available for public use with classes being offered to explain its use and operation and policies related to its use. Check with librarian director Susan Carr for more information.
