National Library Week

Radford Library staff were presented with the National Library Week proclamation at the recent City Council meeting. Though not all library staff could be present, this recognition was an honor for all staff. We are lucky to have such supportive library patrons and city representatives who share a love of reading, education, and information access!  Many thanks to our Radford Community! We hope you'll celebrate  National Library Week 2021 from April 4-10 with us at RPL!

Patron Feedback Survey 2021

During the month of April, in coordination with National Library Week, we will be conducting our annual Patron Feedback Survey.  There have been changes to services over the past year due to Covid, and RPL is also developing a new Strategic Plan.  Please let us hear from you so that we can improve your library! Check our Facebook page, website, and also next week's newsletter during April for a link to the survey, or call to request a printed copy.

Summer Reading - Animal Ambassadors!

The Summer Reading Program (SRP) is a literary celebration that will last 8 weeks and encourage readers of all ages to keep reading!  During June and July 2021, RPL will offer a variety of programs, performers, presentations, crafts and more to entice our patrons to participate in reading and learning at the library both in-person and virtually.  The Tails & Tales theme of the SRP invites many fun animal programs, and we have one scheduled for you with SWVA Wildlife Center! In 2018, we got to meet Wally (pictured), an adorable Animal Abassador who happens to be a bit squirrely!

Summer Reading - Professor Whizzpop

Doesn't a Magical Menagerie sound like a fun time!? While our Youth Services Librarian and library staff continue to develop Summer Reading Program (SRP) activities, this particular event has been booked. Look forward to participating in this magical time in July, either virtually or in-person.  We thank our library fundraising volunteers, the Lamplighters, for funding SRP events and continuing to support the library so that RPL can bring more fun to Radford this summer!
