The University of Mount Union’s Department of Performing Arts will bring selected scenes and songs from its production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol to Rodman Library’s Main Auditorium at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13.

Knit Wits resume meetings

The KnitWits, a circle for needleworkers of all types and skill levels, has resumed meeting at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month at the Main Library. The group is always seeking new members and donations of yarn. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 107.

 
Maker Monday
 

Maker Monday continues at RPL

Maker Monday, an in-person craft program for adults, is held monthly on select Mondays. Crafters will create a  fall-themed craft on Monday, Nov. 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the Main Library.  All materials will be provided free of charge, but space is limited and registration is required for each session. To register for Maker Monday sessions, call 330-821-2665, ext. 107, or visit Rodman Public Library’s online calendar. Monday Maker is supported by Friends of Rodman Library.

Books and Coffee Book Club

Rodman Public Library invites you to join our Books and Coffee Book Club every second Monday of the month. The next book club meeting will be on Monday, Nov. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at Rodman Branch Library. The selected title will be Sold on a Monday by Kristina McMorris. Copies are available at the Main and Branch libraries, through the library’s catalog, or digitally through the Ohio Digital Library and Hoopla. For more information, call 330-821-1313.

True Crime Junkies Book Club

Led by Ashley Mock, a reference librarian at Rodman Public Library, the True Crime Junkies book discussion group meets at 6:30 p.m. every third Tuesday of the month at the Main Library. The selected title for the Nov. 16 meeting is Hope: A Memoir of Survival in Cleveland by Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus. Books can be obtained through the Rodman Library catalog or the Ohio Digital Library. Registration is required. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 215.

Tech Time Thursday
 

TECH Time Thursday

TECH Time Thursday is offered every Thursday between 11:00 a.m. and noon in the Main Library computer lab. A librarian is on hand to answer basic questions about your computer or electronic devices, such as iPhones and Android devices, laptops and tablets.  No registration is needed. Alliance High School Choralaires will perform and Santa will visit the Main Library at 1:00 p.m. This family program is open to all ages. Registration is required. 
 
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 14
Strategy gaming for the whole family from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the 
Main Library Auditorium. Play card games such as Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering or a variety of board games. A new game will also be featured each month for visitors to learn new games.  Come play and make new friends.
 
WEDNESDAY,  DECEMBER 15
“A Civil War Christmas”
Beth Gray and Robb Hyde of the Alliance Area Preservation Society share the music and Christmas traditions from the Civil War era.
