Matthew PearlAuthor Matthew Pearl to Speak at Rodman Library

The 2019 Fogle Author Series continues with author Matthew Pearl, who will speak at Rodman Public Library on Saturday, October 26, at 2 p.m., in the Main Auditorium. He is the New York Times bestselling author of “The Dante Club” and the editor of the Modern Library editions of Dante's Inferno (translated by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow) and Edgar Allen Poe's “The Murder in the Rue Morgue: The Dupin Tales.” “The Dante Club” has been published in more than 30 languages and 40 countries.

His latest novel, “The Dante Chamber,” is the long anticipated follow-up to “The Dante Club,” set five years after a series of Dante-inspired killings disrupted Boston. It is a riveting adventure across London, and through the pages of iconic literature. Other novels include “The Poe Shadow,” “The Last Dickens,” “The Technologists” and “The Last Bookaneer” - all of which stage fascinating real-life historical figures in brilliant crime narratives.

Pearl is a graduate of Harvard University and Yale Law School. He has taught literature at Harvard and Emerson College and lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
