Saturday Morning Movie for Children

Children of all ages are invited to see an animated movie, Incredibles 2, on Saturday, December 1, from 10:00-11:30 a.m., in Rodman Main Auditorium.

In a family with super powers, dad has offered to stay at home with the kids only to find his baby son has powers that are unmanageable while his wife tries to save the world from a mysterious villain.

Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. No registration is needed. Rated PG. Call 330-821-2665, ext. 223, for more information.

Just for Boys Book Club

Charlie and the Chocolate FactoryBoys, ages 8-12, are invited to meet in the Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library for the Just for Boys Book Club. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month from 4:15-5:00 p.m. The next meeting is December 12, and includes a book discussion, games and other activities.

The book for the month is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, by Roald Dahl. Children must be able to read on a 4-6 grade reading level. Participants have a four-week checkout of a selected title one month in advance.

Registration is required. Participants need not attend all sessions. For more information or to register, call 330-821-2665, ext. 223.

Just for Girls Book Club

A Handful of StarsGirls, ages 8-12, are invited to meet in the Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library for the Just for Girls Book Club. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month from 4:15-5:00 p.m. The next meeting is December 19, and includes a book discussion, games and other activities.

Children's Christmas Program

The Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library will be hosting a Christmas Program in the Main Auditorium on Saturday, December 15, at 2:00 p.m. Local musicians, Christine and Scott Miller, will play their guitars and have an interactive sing-along of festive holiday music for children. Santa Claus will also stop by to meet the children and have his picture taken with them. Refreshments will be available.

The program is open to all children and their families. No reservations are needed.

Support for this program has been provided through a donation from the Friends of the Library. For more information, call the Children’s Department at 330-821-2665, ext. 223.

Kids Make & Take Christmas Cookies at the Branch

Christmas cookieChildren, celebrate the holidays by decorating Christmas cookies to make and take home. Mark your calendar for Saturday, December 8, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Branch Library.

This event is open for two hours, so feel free to stop in anytime during those hours to create your own taste treat! All supplies will be furnished – pre-baked cookies, frosting, sprinkles, and other fun food decorations.

This is a free event open to children of all ages. No registration is needed. The Branch Library is located at 1808 W. State St. (in the Marketplace Plaza). For more information, call 330-821-1313.

Snowflake Storytime with Hot Pots at the Branch

SnowflakeChildren, ages 3-12, are invited to Rodman Branch Library for a Snowflake Storytime on Wednesday, December 12, at 6:30 p.m., or Saturday, December 15, at 11:00 a.m.

A story will be read first at the library, then children and their guardian will proceed to Hot Pots to paint a ceramic snowflake plate. Fingerprints and glitter glaze will add sparkly effects to your plate! Snacks will be offered.

The cost is $10.00, payable to Hot Pots before the event. Registration is required and can be made at https://hotpotspottery.com/ or by phone at 330-823-3333.

Join us for one of our ongoing programs at Rodman Public Library. For specific dates and times, please check our monthly calendar of events.

Wee Read, ages birth through two years - Meets at the Main Library Monday evenings from 6:30-7:00 p.m., Wednesday mornings at the Main Library from 10:30-11:00 a.m., and Tuesday mornings at the Branch Library from 10:30-11:00 a.m.

Storytime, ages 3-5 - Meets at the Main Library on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m.; Branch library on Monday mornings at 10:30 a.m. and Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m.

Lego Splash, children of all ages - From January through March, meets the 2nd Saturday from 10:00-11:00 a.m., and 2:00-3:00 p.m., in the Main Children's Program Room.

Boys’ Book Club, ages 8-12 - Meets the 2nd Wednesday at the Main Library from 4:15-5:00 p.m.
Girls’ Book Club, ages 8-12 - Meets the 3rd Wednesday at the Main Library from 4:15-5:00 p.m.
Both book clubs meet in the Main Children’s Program Room.

Tales for Tails - From January through May, meets the 3rd Saturday of the month from 1:00-3:00 p.m., in the Main Children's Program Room.
