Rodman Main Library and Rodman Library Branch will be closed from Wednesday, November 21, at noon through Thursday, November 22. We will reopen on Friday, November 23, at normal library hours.

Polar Express

Polar Express Event for Kids

Get on board The Polar Express! Children and their family are invited to join the staff of the Children’s Department as they whisk you off to the North Pole on Tuesday, November 27, at 6:30 p.m. The Polar Express, written by Chris Van Allsburg, will be read to all who attend?be prepared for surprises along the way. Pajamas are encouraged, but not required. Refreshments will be served. You may enter at the Main Auditorium. Sponsored by the Friends of Rodman Library. Saturday Morning Movie

Children of all ages are invited to see an animated movie, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, on Saturday, November 3, from 10:00-11:30 a.m., in the Children’s Program Room. A vampire and his family take a cruise to relax from their own business. Unknown to him, onboard the ship is a descendant of an old nemesis. Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. No registration is needed. Rated PG. Call 330-821-2665, ext. 223, for more information.

Thanksgiving Storytime with Hot Pots at the Branch

Children, ages 3-12, are invited to Rodman Branch Library for a Thanksgiving Storytime on Wednesday, November 14, at 6:30 p.m., or Saturday, November 17, at 11:00 a.m. A story will be read first at the library, then children and their guardian will proceed to Hot Pots to paint a pilgrim picture frame. Snacks will be offered. The cost is $10.00, payable to Hot Pots before the event. Registration is required and can be made at https://hotpotspottery.com/ or by phone at 330-823-3333.

Just for Boys Book Club

The Losers Club by Andrew ClementsBoys, ages 8-12, are invited to meet in the Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library for the Just for Boys Book Club. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month from 4:15-5:00 p.m. The next meeting is November 14, and includes a book discussion, games and other activities. The book for the month is The Losers Club, by Andrew Clements. Children must be able to read on a 4-6 grade reading level. Participants have a four-week checkout of a selected title one month in advance. Registration is required. Participants need not attend all sessions. The Great Treehouse War by Lisa GraffGirls, ages 8-12, are invited to meet in the Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library for the Just for Girls Book Club. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month from 4:15-5:00 p.m. Please note that the next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 14, as the library will be closing at noon on Wednesday, November 21, for the Thanksgiving holiday. The book for the month is The Great Treehouse War, by Lisa Graff, and includes a book discussion, games, and other activities. Children must be able to read on a 4-6 grade reading level. Join us for one of our ongoing programs at Rodman Public Library. For specific dates and times, please check our monthly calendar of events.

Wee Read, ages birth through two years - Meets at the Main Library Monday evenings from 6:30-7:00 p.m., Wednesday mornings at the Main Library from 10:30-11:00 a.m., and Tuesday mornings at the Branch Library from 10:30-11:00 a.m.

Storytime, ages 3-5 - Meets at the Main Library on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m.; Branch library on Monday mornings at 10:30 a.m. and Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m.

Lego Splash, children of all ages - From January through March, meets the 2nd Saturday from 10:00-11:00 a.m., and 2:00-3:00 p.m., in the Main Children's Program Room.

Boys’ Book Club, ages 8-12 - Meets the 2nd Wednesday at the Main Library from 4:15-5:00 p.m.
Girls’ Book Club, ages 8-12 - Meets the 3rd Wednesday at the Main Library from 4:15-5:00 p.m.
Both book clubs meet in the Main Children’s Program Room.

Tales for Tails - From January through May, meets the 3rd Saturday of the month from 1:00-3:00 p.m., in the Main Children's Program Room.
