Saturday Morning Movie for Children

Children of all ages are invited to an animated movie on Saturday, May 5, from 10:00-11:30 a.m., in the Children’s Program Room. A gentle, flower-loving bull escapes from a bull fighting training camp and ends up living on a peaceful farm until an unfortunate encounter with a vigorous golden bee. Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. No registration is needed. Rated PG. Call 330-821-2665, ext. 223, for more information.

LEGO Mini Golf for Kids

Kids, join us in the Children’s Department on Saturday, May 19, from 10 to 11 a.m., as we build a Lego Mini Golf course with Lego bricks. We’ll be constructing the obstacle course, and more ― then play on what we build.

There is no registration for this free event. It is open to children of all ages. For more information, call the Main Library Children’s Department at 330-821-2665, ext. 223.

Just for Girls' Book Club

Eliza BingGirls, ages 8-12, are invited to meet in the Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library for the Just for Girls’ Book Club. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month from 4:15-5:00 p.m. The next meeting is May 16, and includes a book discussion, games and other activities. The book for the month is Eliza Bing is (Not) a Big, Fat Quitter, by Carmella Van Vleet. Children must be able to read on a 4-6 grade reading level. Participants have a four-week checkout of a selected title one month in advance.

Registration is required. Participants need not attend all sessions. For more information or to register, call 330-821-2665, ext. 223.

Just for Boys' Book Club

The Bad GuysBoys, ages 8-12, are invited to meet in the Children’s Department at Rodman Public Library for the Just for Boys’ Book Club. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month from 4:15-5:00 p.m. The next meeting is May 9, and includes a book discussion, games and other activities. The book for the month is The Bad Guys, by Aaron Blabey. Children must be able to read on a 4-6 grade reading level. Participants have a four-week checkout of a selected title one month in advance.

Minecraft for Children

Minecraft on the iPad will be offered for children, ages 8-12, on Saturday, May 26, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., in Rodman Main Auditorium. Participants will be given different tasks to complete at the beginning of the program, which will encourage teamwork and organization. The Minecraft Realms for iPads will be used for this program. iPads will be available for use. Up to ten children will have access to the iPads at a time. No sign up is required. Spring Storytime with Hot Pots

Children, ages 3-12, are invited to Rodman Branch Library for a Spring Storytime on Wednesday, May 23, at 6:30 p.m., or Saturday, May 26, at 11:00 a.m. A story will be read first at the library, then children and their guardian will proceed to Hot Pots to paint a ceramic flower vase. Snacks will be offered. The cost is $10.00, payable to Hot Pots before the event. Registration is required and can be made at https://hotpotspottery.com/ or by phone at 330-823-3333.

Join us for one of our ongoing programs at Rodman Public Library. For specific dates and times, please check our monthly calendar of events.

Wee Read, ages birth through two years - Meets at the Main Library Monday evenings from 6:30-7:00 p.m., Wednesday mornings at the Main Library from 10:30-11:00 a.m., and Tuesday mornings at the Branch Library from 10:30-11:00 a.m.

Storytime, ages 3-5 - Meets at the Main Library on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m.; Branch library on Monday mornings at 10:30 a.m. and Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m.

Lego Splash, children of all ages - From January through March, meets the 2nd Saturday from 10:00-11:00 a.m., and 2:00-3:00 p.m., in the Main Children's Program Room.

Boys’ Book Club, ages 8-12 - Meets the 2nd Wednesday at the Main Library from 4:15-5:00 p.m.
Girls’ Book Club, ages 8-12 - Meets the 3rd Wednesday at the Main Library from 4:15-5:00 p.m.
Both book clubs meet in the Main Children’s Program Room.

Tales for Tails - From January through May, meets the 3rd Saturday of the month from 1:00-3:00 p.m., in the Main Children's Program Room.
